Overworld sprite help!

Hi!

Lately I've been trying to edit my hero's overworld sprite on Pokemon Black and after completely changing every sprite in the narc file it turns out it hasn't worked. There's something wrong with the colour palette or something, I'm not too sure. Below is a small example of what my edited sprite looks like before and after it's been uploaded and saved back to the original rom.

BWOE to export the narcs and I just edit them through paint. What are the 15 colours I'm supposed to use? What I don't understand is that I just took Curtis' sprite from BW2 and worked around that and the colours so in theory shouldn't it show as the colours are already pre-existent in the game?

The before image is what the sprite looks like after editing and the after is what it looks in game.

Use a program like GIMP to limit the color pallet after you edit the image. Ensure that specific image has a total of 15 colors. Also, when you said "before" and "after", do you mean pallet before and after, or does the actual image change?

Before and after meaning before I tested the rom out. Also, I've been advised not to use GIMP :S Can I ask, can you use any colour as long as there's a maximum of 15 colors?

I replaced the walking sprite and that works fine but I think that's because the sprite already exists in the game.

If I remember correctly, any color should work. Just keep/limit it to 15 using your favorite editor (e.g. paint, ...)
