abb7
I'm sick of Samurott and i need an Electric type! what is a good Electric Type? I'm thinking Zebstrika or Rotom. And also Eelektross looks interesting. Please tell me a good electric type pokemon. PLEASE!
wraith89
Well, this depends on the role your Pokemon plays. I don't think any electric can replace Samurott, even if it is Lanturn. Samurott is what I see as a "balanced attacker". Eelektross can work actually; it has a good enough movepool and decent offences on both sides. However, you will have to get used to how slow that guy is. It is not particularly bulky either, but it is somewhat circumvented by its lack of weakness. As for Zebstrika, it is incredibly fast... but that's about it. It is pretty strong physically, but can get brutally destroyed by any hard hitting attacks. In short, it is very fragile and it is not as bulky as Samurott. Finally, Rotom is pretty nice in general as it is somewhat bulky, moderately powerful, and has a useful movepool. You can make it a Washing Machine to access Hydro Pump, which is always nice.
PokePoindexter
I'd recommend Galvantula. Bug/Electric is a good offensive typing, and it can learn good moves like Bug Buzz and Thunder (through TM25). It's also very fast, so it can outpace plenty of things, and if it has Compoundeyes (its other ability is Unnerve), you get boosted accuracy on several less-accurate moves (hence why I mentioned Thunder instead of Thunderbolt). Nintz
Samurott is water, you know. Replacing it with an electric pokemon is...odd. Still, G5 has a couple of options. The aforementioned pokeom Eelektross, Zebstrika, and Galvantula all have their strengths. Eelektross has no weaknesses. No, really. Electricity is weak only to ground, but Eelektross has levitate. However, it is not a dual-type, so nothing can hit this for massive damage. Not without gravity at least. Combine this with awesome HP and Attack, along with passable Defense, and you have the best long-term G5 electric pokemon in the game. Zebstrika starts strong, but never gets any better. Good versus water and flying, but horrible against heavy tank-like pokemon. Not anything more than a temporary solution. Galvantula is my current choice in-game. It has the hidden benefit of bug and electric canceling the weaknesses to flying and ground, leaving it with only one or two defensive failures. Its main weakness is fire. Relatively fast as well as strong enough to get the job done, Galvantula is best placed in a party that has failed to get a bug pokemon already. Note about Galvantula though, make sure yours has Compoundeyes. Unnerve is horrible, while Compoundeyes is at least relatively useful. If you like legendaries, there is always Zekrom, you know. Being a cover pokemon, I don't think much needs to be said.
