Hello everyone, and a quick thank you in advance.

I have an r4 SDHC dual-core that I am playing pokemon heart gold with an edited save file. At first, there were no problems and I was able to edit anything. However, now, whenever I try to edit the data, the game can never read the edited save file and gives you the generic message that the file is corrupt.

I've read through some threads, and I am not expert, but I have tried quite a few tactics. I have seem some threads mention that this r4 is not high quality. Or if there were some naming issues, or hex value issues, or even not using the correct operations when copying or pasting. Anyways, I do appreciate any help you give me.

oh wow, fast response, and thank you.

Almost any edit that I make will cause a corruption. For example, I first wanted to edit the level of my 1st pokemon, and it did not work. I then proceeded to edit more data (which I used for testing purposes), and it did not work. I am not able to edit anything without having a corrupt data. I do have a working back up.

If this counts, I used to use Pokesav with Pearl/Diamond in 2007 all the time by editing ANY amount of data with an R4 without any problems. I'm pretty sure I'm doing the same exact thing with HG/SS, but at the same time, I feel that I may be missing something.

*and to follow the guidelines of this board, I am not using these "hacked" pokemon for any wifi event or to flood the trade networks. Im using these customized pokemon offline and for my own use.

Thank you Evan, I appreciate your help.

Sorry for taking so long.

I uploaded the file marked as not working to my retail cartridge (Pokemon Soul Silver [uS]) and it loads just fine. It may be your flashcart?

Maybe you could try loading your save file in an emulator after each edit and compare it to how your flashcart works?
