having a problem

Hello, i am beginner here so excuse my noobiness a bit.

Ive searched a bit in the threads and there doesn't seem some having the same problem as I.

i have an r4 and i am using version 3 of poke gen on Pokemon white to alter the level, nature, ev and iv of my Pokemon.

Apparently either i am doing it wrong or the code doesn't work so i need help

here are the steps i am using:

1-load my save, left click on Pokemon and click on view data.

2- adjust the nature id,etc of my Pokemon that i selected ( with met location,etc)

3- click on generate code follow the steps etc (copy, selected Pokemon, L and R to activate).

4- then updating the code using cheat code generator.

5- open my ds activate the ar code, open game, press L and R, bam nothing happens. ( o and i delete the bak ROM file)

so if can any1 just tell me what did i do wrong to get the poke gen activated will be really appreciated.

n-2 copy *.sav to SD card

n-1 Boot DS.
