girox Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Hahaha I just noticed, that in spite of being "General Gaming" threads they all fall in pokemon (not that it's bad) but you know I wanted to talk about something else... for a change So, who likes Street fighter (for example) I love it, all of 'em since SFII but guess what? I suck a those hahaha! Thoughts on street fighter? :bidoof: plays with me all the time, he also wins all the time (THAT bad I play)
Aqueel Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Loved the Street Fighter games. Sakura is my favorite character. Oh, and although I liked Street Fighter IV in General, the last boss pissed me off greatly.
girox Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 agreed! Seth is... well he just makes me yell him FAGGOT all the time OH right, my characters of choice are Chun-li, ken, and in IV El fuerte hahaha he makes me laugh
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I loved the Alpha series the best... and for some reason, I was enamored with playing with Ryu and Ken... yeah, I'm a shoto guy, sue me.
Aqueel Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I also enjoy playing as Ken, way more so then as Ryu. Akuma is amazing as well.
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 It's because Ken's more speed oriented... and people find Ryu... boring. Akuma's too fragile and does not deal enough damage to justify it back... *Hadoken!* *Hadoken!* *Hadoken!* *Shoryuken!* *rinse and repeat*
Aqueel Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I think it's because I like Shoryukens, and that's what Ken is based around. Sakura's running one is cute.
girox Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 I like Ryu's coolness and shoeless hahaha, but Ken is a lot more useful, that still can't beat chun-li's legs omg
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I never liked Sakura much :-/ Shoeless fighters FTW! I don't know... my brother would always pick Ken and I'd pick Ryu and fight each other often. Here are the differences between the Shotos: Ryu: Highest defense, medium attack, lowest speed Ken: Highest speed, medium defense, lowest attack (he combos as you can see) Akuma: Highest attack, medium speed, lowest defense (fail)
Aqueel Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 In that case, wouldn't Akuma be the most dangerous in a skilled players hands?
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Yes, for skilled players, he's good. He has more special abilities (such as the 'avoid technique') and shooting fireballs diagonally from midair. Ken is good for experts too (especially if you need to learn how to do combos and master speed)... and Ryu, being balanced and all... is easy to learn, but the hardest to master. In expert hands, Ryu turns out to be the best one.

In SFIV when i go online, Ryu is the most b!tch of 'em all!! but anyways I believe that some of you might have seen this vid but wanted to share it Oh how I WISH I could play like that T_T
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 There's a wifi mode in the new SF? Personally... I'll stick with the older versions... or Marvel vs Capcom where Ryu can play as all three! Dan is the BEST Shoto ever... NO ONE beats him!
girox Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 There's a wifi mode in the new SF? Yes and everyone uses akuma, ryu or ken talk about originality Dan is the BEST Shoto ever... NO ONE beats him! I'm sorry what's a shoto again? (I'm misunderstanding it because in spanish it means gay hahahaha)
Fallen Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I stopped playing after SFII but recently bought SFIV. I really like the new one, although it could use some more characters and what not.
wraith89 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Yes and everyone uses akuma, ryu or ken talk about originalityI'm sorry what's a shoto again? (I'm misunderstanding it because in spanish it means gay hahahaha) Shoto = Shotokan people... people who play in the same style as Ryu, Ken and Akuma... and there's also Sakura and Dan... who play like them but don't exactly play like them. There's an error with that name though... their martial arts isn't exactly Shotokan... it's something else that involves assassination techniques (I forgot the name though). And boo... people are always playing shotos? Youch... I guess the charge input characters like Chun-li aren't so popular anymore.
Neo Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Seth really annoys me and the xbox controller isn't the best but its usable.
girox Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 Well, if the charge inputs werent so impossible to input maybe more people would use 'em. And yes the controller issue... nothing beats the arcade joystiq joystick
wraith89 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 So who's this Seth guy? And yeah, charge input characters are so hard to play with... I'll just stick with Ryu and Ken Has anyone mastered Ryu or Akuma and know how to play them properly? I'm still not too great with Ryu and I'm still failing with Akuma -__-
girox Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Seth is this Dr. Manhattan look-alike guy um... http://www.omelete.com.br/images/galerias/streetfighteriv/sfiv%20(150).jpg ... Yeah he IS naked and well he's just an über "perfect" fighter made by shadaloo to conquer the world bla bla bla you know the usual stuff hahah but boy he sure is hard to beat (even in the easiest mode... I insist I'm not very good at street fighters)
