Requimatic Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I'm interested in buying an Action Replay for my DS Lite. I've been reading reviews everywhere, and pretty much everywhere you go you see negative reviews claiming that the AR messed up some kid's game, or in a few cases the DS itself. So, what can you all say about it? I understand that using the wrong codes could corrupt a game's save file, but damage it permanently? I find that hard to believe, as well as permanently damaging the system itself, unless I'm missing something as to how it operates. Can anyone offer some insight? I'd rather not spend money on it only to have it trash my DS and/or game. Thanks. PS: I tried using the search function but it didn't seem to work, my apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere.
Kaphotics Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 cheating is bad hurr durr It only modifies memory values. Don't use stupid codes and you'll be fine.
Bond697 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 everyone saying that was an idiot and did something they obviously should not have. it's tough to break your game(save) with an AR. you have to be really, really careless.

That's what I was thinking. I've been using Game Genie/Game Shark/Action Replay on other systems for years, so I don't really know what I was worried about. But that's pretty much what I wanted to hear, thanks!
Riolu Aura Sphere Now Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Yup, if you know what you're doing, then you'll be fine. Action Replay Codes aren't fatal, but some codes can have some Side-effects that can ruin the In-game Story, so just have some common sence when using Action Replay Codes.
