-Storyline-

Warning: Really, really, long.

You wake up, this being your first day in Corolla Town.

Your new neighbor Chris tells you to come over to your father's lab, so you can see what he's accomplished while you've been on your adventure.

You look around for a while, and suddenly the power goes out in the area. Trying to keep the lab safe, you and Chris graba Pokemon and look around making sure nothing shady is going on. You manage to catch the tail end of a strange conversation and realize that someone has invaded the lab while the power was off.

However, their maneuvering jammed the door to the file closet. It is an electric door and was design to have a code put in. The only person who can reset it is the mechanic who designed it, in the neighboring Woodread Town.

After you convince the mechanic to help you, the four of you enter the file closet and see tons of files on the floor. The one missing? An unfinished research paper detailing a mystical Pokemon that has eluded people for eons. The papers detail a time-traveling Pokemon named Celebi.

Your father realizes what has just happened and send you to the mysterious Aurelia Forest, a golden forest that seems to be trapped in the season of fall. It lies beyond Sinetech City, just northeast of it.

Also, some Pokemon files were lost. Prof. Almus gives you time to tell your mother you're going on a new journey as he prepares a Pokedex designed to log the 200 missing Pokemon.

Once you have your Pokedex, you and Chris head north on Route 71, past trees and grass to the vibrant Sinetech City.

Sinetech's booming lifestyle compares with Goldenrod, as Chris notes as you two take a look around. He heads to the Trainer's School to recap some old lessons. You follow suit, and then explore the city for yourself. The Department Store has not yet opened its upper floors, but there is still plenty of people to see and things to do. With your current interests in Sinetech settled, you head east to Route 72.

Route 72 runs north, but has an exit to the east blocked by a ledge. You bypass it, instead running by the grassy fields and flower-filled meadows, until you cross the bridge to the golden forest, battling contesters along the way. Aurelia Forest is just steps away, and you step into the gate...

The forest is quiet, the sound of leaves crunching on the floor really the only thing you hear. You tread carefully, wild Pokemon attacking in what seemes like a random manner. Through a thin area of trees you see suspicious activity going on, but what's this...?

A bush blocks your progress. Chris comes from down the path with news. Shady people in suits are guarding the bride that leads deep into the woods. Without the ability to use Cut, it won't be possible to investigate further. With that in mind, Chris encourages you to take on the Aurelia City Gym, where you'll earn the ability to use Cut, as well as an honorary badge.

So, you head through the golden twists and turns, cross the second lake of Route 72, and walk into Aurelia City, a calm city in the middle of lush woods and clover fields. The Gym Leader, Oraline, is a Bug-type specialist, as well as an environmentalist. The city's parks and bridge are all due to her wanting more appreciation for natural beauty.

But this Oraline is no newcomer to the world of Pokemon. Once you step into her golden throne, the very first Gym you enter, you realize that even she, at the bottom of the Pokemon League, is a challenge to face. Once you conquer her formidable team, you'll earn the ability to cut small bushes, and finally make it deep into the heart of Aurelia Forest.

Chris confronts you outside of the Gym, just as you exit, saying he caught a Fire-type to use against Oraline. You remember that you haven't told Oraline about what was going on in Aurelia Forest, so Chris volunteers to do it. That out of the way you head into the woods alone, hoping to fix the problem.

But, it's not that simple. You cut the tree blocking progress, only to find a massive blockade. It won't be there for long. A strange person parts the crowd and greets you in a cold manner. "Well hello, and who might you be? Ah, it doesn't matter. A silly child like you could never mess up our grand plan. I don't see why you're still trying to challenge me. Your recklessness amuses me, but, alas, you'll never get in my way. Farewell, young Trainer. Let this be the last time we meet... for your sake.

Oraline and Chris arrive too late, the fleet of darkly-dressed goons long gone. Later, in the Pokemon Center you and Chris via PC contact Prof. Almus and tell him the news. He recommends you continue your travels to recover lost data. He also tells you to keep an eye out for that villainous bunch... you finally recognize them as Team Rocket.

With a new goal in mind, you and Chris set out for Escarpike City, which sits near a large volcano and is home to a famous dojo where Trainers hone their skills. You cross bridges that rise with the elevation and eventually cross Mt. Lahar, which exits on Route 75, just a short walk west from Escarpike.

The city itself is small, with quite a bit to do. Once you clear the Gym, though, you'll be able to head south, down themountains to Leaholm Town, where a river flows. Continue south and you'll end up trekking a sheer rock canyon that ends at Aridock City, a city in the shrublands connected to the sea by a long and famous canal.

You hear of fishy business down the canal at Aridock Port, and you investigate, finding that two Team Rocket goons have staked out a hideout, though at the moment you are unable to enter it.

So, you head into the wild, western wastelands of Route 78, battling rebels and cowboys as you follow a fleeting trail to Westrail City. This old western town is home to the Ground Type Gym, and great for a new challenge. However, it boasts other attractions, such as the Westrail Game Corner. You find a disturbance has been going on in the Westrail Desert (Rt. 79), and so you head out there to find Team Rocket on an unauthorized archaeological dig. As you stop them you hear their plans to head north...

Chris catches up and decides he'll go up there, too. He recommends you buy Snow Shoes at the Department store. They're on sale and come in handy for the cold weather. You head back to Sinetech City to find that the rest of the Department Store is finally open. Now you can shop 'til you drop!

...or at least until you set out for the barren northern snowfields.

You meet a nice hiker at the entrance of the Northwind Pass, a small cave with a few Rock Smash puzzles, that exits out in a white winter wonderland. You cross the small, frozen ponds of Route 80, to the small, isolated Frozone City.

With not much to do besides earn the next badge, you conquer the gym and keep going east, where the trees give way to an endless, frozen plain plagued by blizzards. After a long trek you find solace in the small Glaciel Village...

But Team Rocket is doing something down the Glaciel Well, which used to have water in warmer times. But now the well has frozen up at the bottom, exposing an ancient cave... what could Team Rocket want with that?
