Creating/Extracting a High Quality Pokemon Map

Hello, I was wondering how to get a map such as the picture in the link below.

I wanted to get the game map of routes, dungeons, caves, and towns/citys in high detail and large picture.
Is there a way to take a screenshot, to extract map, and/or to view a raw game map?
I want to try getting the map myself. NOT search in the search engines and download them.

Any help would be appreciated. :biggrin:

Alpha's working on a program to make maps from information in the ROM. AFAIK Bulbapedia gets what good ones they have through painstaking stitching together and editing of screenshots from an emulator.
