[Suggestion] Pokémon of the Week

I'd totally sanction this idea, as it would certainly appeal to people. I know it sounds irrelevant, but from what I've been at, people who play competitively just don't really know what they like or are somehow convinced all they like are Pokemon that's "strong" or competitively viable, to put it more aptly. It sounds cool if we have a random number generator and you can start putting up Pokemon that are selected based off the RNG. Getting people to know more about their favourites or Pokemon that don't see much light sounds swell. I don't object to this, though I may want to proofread your... thing before you post it up or whatnot.

questions Heart Gold/Soul Silver Help and Small Questions thread

Hello. I have a question here. I've noticed that when a Pokemon the opposing trainer uses does NOT possess a move that can affect your Pokemon out in any way are either forced to retreat or if it is the last Pokemon, keep spamming a move that does nothing. However, the behaviour seems awfully strange for Red. When I had my Lapras out, I used Surf to take his Charizard down to red HP. Then Red RETREATED his Charizard and sent out his Venusaur to take the incoming Ice Beam that was supposed to finish off the Charizard. Heh heh... anyways, I'm rather confused here. Normally a trainer does not switch out their Pokemon unless given the conditions mentioned above, then why would Red switch out his Charizard who had things that could hurt Lapras to send out a Venusaur? Can anybody shed some light here? Are there other conditions that affect the AI's decision for switching out a Pokemon? Thank you.

Sounds great. Though, ours already is pretty great because we are even covering obscure threats, which do pop out of nowhere and screw anybody over. Yes, I've caused a lot of people trouble with things like Nidoqueen. Don't underestimate stuff just because they're not used much.

I'm not kidding. I really hate it. Like... you can see stuff with relatively low BST like Scrafty (488), Ferrothorn (489) and Reuniclus (490) dominating. You know... how they gave something not so marvelous like Clefable Magic Guard to give an incentive to use her? They made a completely broken Pokemon in the form of Reuniclus, and decided to make it funny by adding a broken ability Magic Guard to it, with perfect stats, perfect movepool (CM/Recover/TRICK ROOM/great offensive moves/etc)... just to screw us all. Haxorus with 147 attack and 97 speed and Dragon Dance and Outrage. Skarmory? No problem let's use Taunt! Levitate? Mold Breaker says no! (so much for Pinsir's milestone)...

I used to criticise Gen IV for being "offensive in nature"... but that's more like Gen V. Gen IV is pretty balanced.

I do play mind games with Blazikens though. Bring up a bait, and bring in Flash Fire Chandelure to either take a Flare Blitz or a Hi Jump Kick. I prefer it to be the latter, because that means Blaziken will OHKO himself <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin.png" alt=":D" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

However, Blaziken's standard set is Swords Dance / Hi Jump Kick / Flare Blitz / Stone Edge. I'm in trouble if THAT hits. If rocks are not on my side, Skarmory's Sturdy works... taking that Flare Blitz and eating Blaziken with a Brave Bird (not on the same turn of course, but switch in to a Swords Dance or something). Azumarill is a great anti-metagame Pokemon. You're not directly switching into a Hi Jump Kick, but you are forcing him out.

Beware of Gen V's metagame... everything hits too hard >_<
