So im running a chromebook with crossover (lets you install and run .exe files for windows through wine) and ive got as far as having PkHeX show up as an application but any time i try and launch it it immediatly closes. I know that this is an old thread im just wondering if anyone was in the same boat as me and found a workaround.

Did you install dotnet with winetricks?

  2. Well, since I don't use Windows, I can't say much. Maybe some other can help you better.

Not sure if every Windows comes with .NET Framework pre-installed. My guess is that it doesn't.

My problem was the .NET Framework installation due to poor internet connection.

(It would help if you share a screenshot of the problem, and share more details.

That way, there is more possibility to help you.)

Hi!  I am a dummy, I think -- this is my 1st time trying to do a save file.  Nintendo Switch .  The tutorial is fine, but I need some additional info.  For example:

    * when downloading Checkpoint from Github, which file(s) do I need for the Switch?

    * when putting Checkpoint onto my SD card for the Switch,

        *** which file(s) do I copy over?

*** Do they need their own directory? does it need to be called something, like, Checkpoint?

*** Is there anything special I need to worry about if I have my Sw game on cartridge vs DL file?

Thanks.  Sorry for such basic questions....

    1. You only need to download Checkpoint.nro.

    2. Copy to SD card, preferably to switch folder.

    3. It should create a folder once you start using it.

    4. Any Switch game cartridge or digital, store saves on the console. This is why you can use the same software on different accounts with different saves.

    Hope it helps.

  4. I'm pretty sure this or similar questions have been asked before, but all I see are different answers.

I would like to know if anyone has managed to build PKHeX to use it on Linux. At least in part.

I ask because I've pretty much been trying to build, find and use PKHeX for Linux Ubuntu 20.04. I don't know a lot of coding, but I don't see guides that really helps with knowledge.

I've been trying to build with Visual Studio, MonoDevelop... And there is always an error or warning. Is it even POSSIBLE for me to build it in a way so I can I use on Linux without needing Windows or its .NET Core? I really don't like Windows.

I've tried wine. It loads, but with a lot of errors and it can't open Sword or Shield saves. Whenever I move the mouse to the box, it shows and error, so, basically I can't do anything with it.

PKHeX for me does not work since Sword and Shield support came. I'm pretty sure it has to do with .NET Framework, I believe.

Trying to find a solution that doesn't require Windows. If some of its dependencies are required, I prefer the minimal.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. This is what I call Pokemonopoly... It's sad they had to paywall something that was free from Gen III to Gen V. They even made it harder for us that have internet problems. Making something depending on internet is annoying most of the times.

But, well. It could still be much, much worse. (I'm pretty sure of it.)

  6. Have to say this, if you want to dump your saves, you gotta use homebrew.

To use homebrew, you need to use CFW(Custom Firmware).

On 3DS, you can follow this guide if you don't have CFW already on it. Do so at your own risk.

(Be sure you select the right/correct 3DS model when following the guide)

  7. I wish I could help, I make save backup of my games occasionally, so I have a v1.0 save, a v1.1 save and a v1.2 save.

Would it be fair if I try to restore the v1.0 save and to the v1.2 game then save it to see if the theory is right?

Edit: (I can't use PKHeX for now, but I'm willing to share a save for research purposes).

  8. Yes, I kind of forget sometimes, since I occasionally use PKHeX.

I believe there is some kind of event database here and in PKHeX, right? But I believe I had problems with it. I'm considering creating a partition for Windows 7 to use PKHeX.

Since wonder cards ain’t saved to the Switch, it possible to just get the “record” of having received the Mystery Gifts? I unfortunately missed a few events because I was busy with school and didn’t get to play until I was much less busy. Also, I really wanted that Gold Bag event that was Amazon-exclusive.

  9. Hey there. Would like to know if it is possible to get events without using Switch Online service. Specially those that you can't get anymore.

I remember in previous generations it was possible to kind of spoof, I think, the mystery gift feature. I haven't found a way to host my own mystery gifts for Sword and Shield. Is it possible? Is there any server dedicated for this?

I'll be glad if anyone could answer these questions, or leave me a link to a thread or place that answers my questions. Thanks in advance!

(Hope I posted in the right section).
