So I was able to use a firmware spoofing script from GBAtemp to access the eshop and update my games. Yay! However, ram2sav dumps a file that the latest version of pkhex cannot read. Boo!
(This is all for Pokemon Y by the way).
If I delete the update, then I can use ram2sav just fine. Yay! But then I have to spoof the firmware and redownload it every time I want to get the update.
My money would be on offsets getting mucked with.
If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it!

A quick note: if you've accidentally downloaded the update via spotpass, and it nags you to update every 24 hours or so, you can boot your system in recovery mode. To do so,
1) Make sure the system is off.
2) Turn it on. (DO NOT WAIT FOR THE HOME SCREEN TO SHOW UP)
3) Immediately hold down the shoulder buttons (L and R), the Up button on the d-pad, and the A button. You don't need to hold it for more than a second or two - the system will not proceed until you let them go.
4) A screen should show up asking you to update via the internet. Select "cancel."
5) The system will turn off.
And just like that, no more update nag!
As for the patch, I'm surprised it didn't get pushed out sooner. As soon as the QR code stuff hit Kotaku, you *knew* that the countdown had started, assuming it hadn't already.

(If anyone notices something wrong with what I'm about to say, please feel free to correct me!)
Based on the research done on the Gen VI file format (http://projectpokemon.org/wiki/Pokemon_X/Y_3DS_Structure), it would seem that PID has been divorced from pretty much everything. Gender, ability, nature, even Spinda's spots are now all determined by other bytes in the structure. The only thing I know for sure that PID determines is shininess. IVs, meanwhile, were sort of "accidentally" associated with the PID due to the prng implementation in Gen III and IV, but they fixed that issue in Gen V.
Now, as for PKHeX giving legal PIDs and such, the answer to that is: they're probably legal as far as anyone knows. I don't know quite enough to be able to give you a more authoritative answer than that, but so far there hasn't seemed to have been any problems with it in terms of legality.

Yeah, I had this happen to me just now. I had loaded a decrypted save and was editing a Pokemon. When I got to the OT/Misc, it threw this error. However, I was able to continue using the program, it's just that the text looked weird and bolded. When I reopened the program, my Trainer name was in wingdings or webdings or something. When I opened it again, everything was normal. So, it would seem to have something to do with the font.
This is what I got.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

i put code.bin and all the other files like injection bug, and pokemon.ekx as notepad if you ever open them up, i hav 3ds xl and my version num is 4.6 can anyone help me out? i also don't get anything when i thry and do the process
If you read the first line of the instructions:
This requires you use a 3ds on system nand 9.0-9.4. You CANNOT use any other firmware, nor a new nintendo 3ds, nor a 3ds on 9.x emunand. -
Yeah but remember Nintendo can patch this in anytime, but ofc if ppl don't care about online then this is perfect for everyone.
Not to mention that having a second 3ds for this purpose will make said patching irrelevant. Granted, this is not practical or convenient for everyone, but still, it is an option. With any luck, the new 3ds will push the price down a bit as well.

The 1.2 (or 1.1 patch. Not sure which) removed that event from what I heard. If you still don't get the event for the item to activate (I'm guessing GameFreak plans to distribute this via wondercard/Mystery Gift instead) then you can boot the game with a blank SD card (or just uninstall the game patches via Data Management).
Then boot the game without the game patches installed and put the Hoopa in your party and activate the event. Once you have the bottle, you can reinstall the game patches as I know myself that they do not remove the bottle after it's already in your item list.
Are you sure it isn't an issue with the Hoopa not being flagged as a "Fateful Encounter?"
-
just a question, injected a hoopa but it didn't dex, was wondering why? i gotta wait to use the pokepark til my payday unfortunately if that's the answer
If you mean PokeBank, then yeah, that is the answer unfortunately.
Not working for me,The web browser searches the website successfully.
What do you mean "searches the website successfully?"
-
Yes I am aware of that, tried both switches still nothing. If I'm just going to buy a new sd card buying an action replay would be a lot better.
Whoops, did not read your full post there. Sorry about that.
Yeah, that is weird.
-
I can't even get to step 1. Got my code.bin and pokemon.ekx file ready for copy, but my SD card says it's write protected. Tried formatting, regedit, cmd, switching the lock on the sd card and still I can't get it too copy
Perchance, that wouldn't happen to be the result of the little plastic switch on the SD card itself being in the wrong position, would it?
-
it somehow turned into an ek6 file?
Save it like this. Make sure to type that .ekx extension.
-
So, if you haven't heard the news, we can now directly inject pokemon into XY and ORAS with just a 3DS within the correct versions and an SD Card reader. All info on that here.
I've got it working but all pokemon I try to inject output as bad eggs. I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with the pokemon, so are there any guides to creating legit pokemon from scratch in PKHeX? I could only find ones for other pokemon generators for Gen V and earlier.
Here's an example of something I'm trying to inject. What's the issue with it?
Thanks in advance!
You're going to want to move this over to the thread in Save R&D. The issue, to the best of my knowledge, is that you're not properly saving the file as a .ekx. Kaphotics updated PKHeX to make this easier - just select "All Files" in the file type, and type ".ekx" at the end.
Also how are you trying to inject the monsCheck out SciresM's thread in Save R&D that's currently blowing up. It's actually pretty wonderful.
Edit: Dang it Kaphotics beat me to it.
-
Yeah I found it, I was being kinda stupid and not realizing it was that, it still didn't work though
This is kind of a stumper.
The bit about not getting the grey bar when you run the web exploit raises an eyebrow.
1) Very stupid question, since I doubt the browser would crash otherwise, but you are connected to the internet right?
2) Quadruple check the address of the web exploit (again, it would seem weird for it to crash if you didn't get the right URL).
3) The only other thing I can think to try is to try accessing the web exploit via the QR code.
It seems fairly clear that SciresM's code isn't running at all, given your lack of a debug file. This makes me think it's an issue with running the web exploit more than anything else.
Some people are telling me they got eggs can anybody tell me what happend i think those people can´t make a sixth gen pokemon without make something badThey're probably messing up something with the .ekx file, either with the extension or with the contents of the file itself.

Where is the "Initialize Save Data"? And what does it do?
It's at the bottom of the settings menu in the browser. It completely resets it, wiping out your history, bookmarks, everything. A couple of users have found this helpful.
-
This is what it looks like http://imgur.com/zHnidGx
Damn it. That does look right, unfortunately.
Just so we're on the same page, as there was some confusion when I first brought this up: did you end up finding the "Initialize Save Data" function in the settings of the browser (and did you use it)?
-
So here is what I am doing, tell me if I am doing anything wrong
1. Downloaded the file and put it on my SD Card
2. Make a Pokemon on PKHex and used the All Files option to save it as pokemon.ekx
3. Put my SD Card into my 3DS
4. Went into browser and cleared everything, and saved the LoadCode as a Bookmark
5. Went into AS/X and went into the Box to check, and then left the PC
6. Went to browser and went to the Link, and then it crashes (One thing I notice on SciresM video is that he got a gray bar on the top of the browser before it crashed, I didn't get that)
7. Went into AS/X and check the PC but I got nothing in there
Please help.
I assume you also saved your pokemon.ekx to your sd card as well.
Can you post a screenshot of your SD card's root?
-
Make sure to rename it to pokemon.pkx
NO! pokemon.ekx. With an "e".
This might be your problem!
-
I am on 9.4 and it doesn't have that
Hmm. Weird.
Just so we're both on the same page, here is what you should be able to do:
1) Go to your 3DS browser.
2) In the menu (a button found at the bottom right of the lower screen) there is a button towards the left with a wrench icon. Click it.
3) As you scroll down, you will see several options and windows. On firmware 9.2, it has, in this order, "Search Engine," "Text Wrap," "Clear History," "Delete Cookies," "Network Information," "Proxy Settings," "Initialize Save Data," and "Version Info" (mine says 1.7567).
It is possible (I have no way of checking this) that the "Initialize Save Data" button was renamed after 9.2 to "Delete All" or something like that.
4) Press the "Initialize Save Data" button (or delete all) and it will completely reset the browser, including history, cookies, and bookmarks.
-
He was talking about the browser though
So am I. Unless they updated the name (I am on 9.2).
-
Where is the delete all option?
I believe it is the "Initialize Save Data" option.
-
From what I understand, it only works with a Japanese copy of the game, and with a Japanese 3DS. Along with that I think the 3DS has to be completely modified/unlocked.
First sentence is correct. Second one is not.
If a miracle happens, someone will figure out how to get it to read non-JP carts. Barring that, we would be stuck yet again waiting for a solution for non-Japanese carts.
-
The current problem is that save file encryption uses an RSA key which is 0'd at at FIRM launch. To recover the information needed to actually decrypt these saves we need: a 6.0+ exploit, a hardware ram dumper, or a dump of the bootrom. Right now we have none of these and there's no promises we'll get any of those any time soon.
Would the 6.0+ exploit (ssspwn) that is allegedly out there be sufficient for this purpose, or is it too limited to be of use here?
-
Good luck!
Also, I noticed that a spam bot necro'd an old news post. Doesn't bode well...

04/01/14 - New Update:
- Fixed: Import Gen5 PKM to decapitalize an ALL CAPS species name.
- Added: Can now drag & drop Gen5 PKMs into the window/tabs to convert (can still Extra->Convert).
- Added: Can now drag out from the top right corner to save a .pk6.
- Added: Can now drag out from the bottom right corner to save a .ek6.
- Added: Characteristics are now displayed in the Stats tab.
- Added: IV Total and Judge Reading (overall potential) in the stats tab.
- Added: Save Injection. Read below.
Now that Datel allows exporting of Decrypted Save files and will fix them upon writing to the cart (thanks Datel!), PKHeX can now insert to Slot 1 Box 1 of the save file.
Load your save file, then load the Pokemon you wish to insert into the tabs. When you File->Save, the Box Slot will be overwritten and you can save the edited save file.
OMG KAPHOTICS THAT IS GREA..... oh.
Dude. That is so mean. Hilarious, but so very mean.

Generating Shiny Eggs
in Pokémon Legality
Posted
Aside from making it shiny after it hatches?
Question: for your shiny egg, do you give it your trainer information? Because the ID of the trainer that hatches it is the ID that matters for determining whether or not it comes out as shiny.
