Hello, I recently found this post in a thread on modding Pokemon in Black & White.
I am currently using it to attempt to modify a Lugia into a "Shadow Lugia" in Pokemon Volt White 2. The problem is this. I need to make the eye, or at least the area surrounding the eyes red. Since Lugia has a red tongue, and since the tutor mentioned that you can only modify a Pokemon with the colors it already has available, I figured this would be simple.
Unfortunately, every time I use PuyoTools to decompress, and re-import the file into CrystalTile2. An error message pops up saying this.
Am I doing something wrong when I decompress the file? Help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know I could've posted in that thread, forgive me, but it seems to have been 'dead' for about a year, hence why I posted in the forum.

Just don't update it then, use the exact xdeltaUI from the downloads here
I literally just tried a new one here to test what was going on and that worked fine for me. No updating, clean ROM.
Make sure you choose the apply patch tab: Patch is the .xdelta, Source is the Clean ROM.nds, and the Output is whatever.nds at the told directory.
Alright then, thanks.
-
The xDelta will work for both 32bit and 64bit.
It's basically saying if there is an update for xDelta just update it.
I also have a 64 bit computer and use the xdelta packaged with the download for VW2/BB2.
You only have to specify the inputs and outputs.
I'm sure it's because the patch comes with the xdeltaUI Mod that you only have to update the xdelta.exe while the UI stays the same.
But if you want you can look at: http://code.google.com/p/xdelta/downloads/list
There is an update for xDelta, I updated it and I was trying to patch a Clean ROM, then the "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application" error window appeared with this in it's 'Details':
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

In the Volt White 2, and Blaze Black 2 Patches folder in a "Patching Notes" .txt file Drayano says "The distribution package comes bundled with xdelta version 3.0u (Windows 32bit).If there is a new release of xdelta just replace xdelta.exe with a binary of the
new version and it should be fine."
The xDelta.exe in the Patches folder is for 32-bit, and I have a 64-bit, How do I replace the binary of xDelta.exe?

gbatemp, author is neoplex
A way to solve your problem is to extract /a/0/1/6 (with nitroexplorer 2b) and insert it into a clean ROM. If you then use the regular program it should be able to edit the species data for you. When you're done, insert it back into BBVW2.
I'l try it and see what happens. You've been very helpful, and patient, Kaphotics. Thank you very much!

One last question. For the Clean Rom, should I still use the Blaze Black & Volt White 2 rom changer, or Do I need to use the regular Black 2 & White 2 rom changer?

First time i found tinke is from google code, is still spanish, half are english. After few month i found that, author of tinke post his tool on gbatemp. You can found on : https://code.google.com/p/tinke/
Ah, Thank you very much, sir.

If you texture hacked with anything but hex (such as tinke), this program won't work. The source code is in the OP; if you find where the offsets were shifted to you can probably edit & compile one that works.
I see the "Source for prc_bw2 translation", but I haven't the slightest idea about what you're talking about, lol. I'm pretty much as 'layman' as you can get with programs, hacks, etc...
By the way do you know where I can find the "tinke" you mentioned?
-
Is the rom 100% un-edited; as in you haven't replaced any narcs/used any other programs with it? (are you using the right version of the program)
I've texture hacked a total of 9 Pokemon. I think so, yes; Volt White 2 Complete Version 1.1, right?

Hello, I don't know If anyone posted in the thread about this problem. So, pardon me for 'double posting', but from briefly skimming through the thread it seems my problem maybe, how do you say... "unique"? First let me get basics stuff out the way; I'm using Pokemon Volt White 2, done.
I keep getting this error every time I hover over and click on a random Pokemon in the "Species Data" editor tab: Here
With a message that goes as follows:

Try re-downloading the your white 2 and the VW2 patch then patch that new rom and then import your old save file, if that fails, talk to drayano by PM.
Thank you so much! It worked like a charm :bidoof:

I recently posted in the BB2 & VW2 thread, but it's been over 4 days and I haven't gotten a response to my question/problem. So here goes:
'I don't know If anyone can help me, but I can't seem to teach my Typhlosion the Fire Pledge move. The Move Tutor keeps saying Helios (my Typhlosion) knows the move, but he doesn't. I'm also having the same problem with teaching him Blast Burn. I even went ahead and deleted a move just to make sure it could not be something related to not having any room in Helios's move set.'
Fire Pledge Tutor:
Blast Burn Tutor:
Can anyone lend their assistance? It would be much appreciated.

Was there a procedure, that if missed, would cause a pokedex to not read a pokemon created by PokeGen?
-
There's absolutely no need to do anything like that, considering PokeGen can flag everything necessary related to the Pokedex. The codes are short enough to work on AR hardware as well.
not trying to sound like a jerk, but why couldn't it "flag" the squirtle i wanted before, but after taking that said squirtle to the day care the information popped up in the pokedex?
-
I use Pokegen to get pokemon without training them but their data isn't entered into the Pokedex. I tried clicking the check for Pokedex under code generator but I think the file became too big. Is there anyway around this or will my Pokedex be incomplete?
http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?11703-B-amp-W-Have-pokemon-no-pokedex-data
FINALLY! regardless of whether or not i'm "Late", it should still be on record. To get rid of this little glitch you need to sort of "jump start" your pokedex, by way of egg hatching the pokemon, or going to the day care lady, dropping your pokemon off, walking outside, then going back in and picking them up.
-
i'm having the same trouble, and it seems like this is the only thread i've found concerning this problem, maybe there is more i'm not too sure, i've been looking on and off for close to 3 hours now.
-
if the code doesn’t work for you, you either have done something wrong at point c), or your hardware cannot handle the code’s length.
Is there anyway to combat this travesty, because i've tried splitting "Accelgor" pokemon code in half and putting an activation trigger in the begginning of both sections but that didn't work. The problem being the pokemon that are made using PokeGen somehow refuse to be registered in my pokemon white pokedex. Would certain things need to remain checked or unchecked in the "options" drop down bar?
Lugia modification problem.

Lol, it's just... Tinke gets on my nerves... there aren't any tutorials I've looked for that have any benefit to me, but alas...
I don't know how to "edit with hex"
