  1. Ok, I'll try a new Jirachi in replacement for Blissey. Only problem with Gliscor swap is that NO ONE I've seen predicted it, giving me pretty much a free +2. Jirachi DOES seem to be better, though...
  2. Thanks for the reply. Cloyster has gotten important boosts from swords dance, so I'm a little reluctant to let it go, but I will swap about Modest for Timid on Latios. Psyshock is incredibly effective against common special walls (I nailed both a Chansey and Blissey with it), so it helps a lot. If Jellicent can use aromatherapy, I will swap it, but I really need that move to cure status problems. Magic Bounce has come in very important for me on leads, effectively giving me much free damage, and I use the walls in the lead to set up. I will, if I can't find a good replacement for Blissey, give it Flamethrower due to its decent special attack. Gliscor has life orb just in case my other sweepers die, leaving me in trouble. Fire Fang lacks power though, so I may swap it for Substitute as you recommended, and then easily pass it on. Thanks!
  3. Espeon @ Light Clay Nature: Timid Ability: Magic Bounce EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd Role: To set up walls for my team, mainly to allow Cloyster to set up. - Reflect - Light Screen - Psychic - Hidden Power (Fire) Comment: My lead, and my double waller. Protects the team from a lot of damage. Sets up reflect, and if it can, light screen. HP Fire takes down any annoying Scizors that try to stop me. Cloyster @ Life Orb Nature: Jolly Ability: Skill Link EVs: 252 Attk/ 4 SpDef / 252 Spd Role: Main physical sweeper. - Shell Smash - Icicle Spear - Rock Blast - Razor Shell Comment: My main physical sweeper. He can do tons of damage after he has set up, potentially sweeping a whole team. Requires a lot of looking after before he can sweep, though. Gliscor @ Life Orb Nature: Impish Ability: Hyper Cutter EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd Role: To take out pesky electrics and to baton pass even more attack to Cloyster. Secondary sweeper. - Swords Dance - Baton Pass - Earthquake - Fire Fang Comment: A quick switch-in to kill of electrics. A nice bonus is fire fang, which can easily take out an enemy grass type when they switch in to clear the way for Cloyster. He can also do very well as a sweeper if need be. Latios @ Choice Specs Nature: Modest Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAttk / 252 Spd Role: A special sweeper as backup for Cloyster. Main role is to take out fighting types, since Espeon sometimes lacks the power. - Draco Meteor - Surf - HP Fire - Psyshock Comments: Can easily blast away fighting types, and does decently against steels such as Scizor and co. with HP Fire. Can take out rocks with surf. Scrafty @ Leftovers Nature: Careful Ability: Shed Skin EVs: 252 HP / 8 Attk / 248 SpDef Role: A decent physical wall, and an expert Tyranitar and steel-type killer. - Bulk Up - Drain Punch - Crunch - Rest Comment: Steels are a big problem so far. Scrafty solves that problem. Easily tanking their attacks whilst dealing out damage and healing with Drain Punch, he can take down most threats. Bulk Up slowly makes him snowball into a very powerful defensive and offensive pokemon, and rest + shed skin allows for fast recovery of health. Crunch can take out psychics to. Blissey @ Leftovers Nature: Bold Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef Role: Entry Hazards and both health and status heals. - Aromatherapy - Softboiled - Toxic - Stealth Rock Comment: The main special wall in case my team takes some hits. Aromatherapy heals status. Toxic and Stealth Rock allow lingering effects to cripple the enemy. Softboiled to keep her alive. Overall Goal: Take out entry hazards with Espeon whilst setting up my own with Blissey. Send out Gliscor to baton pass to Cloyster. Take out fighting with Latios, steels with Scrafty and electrics with Gliscor. Heal up every now and again with Blissey.
  4. Thanks. I'll change Reuniclus to Magic Guard, and try to be careful with my Magnezone. Thanks!
  5. Yea, sorry about all that. I'm new to the forums, but I read your great guide. I tried to make a team that flowed well, but I see now it did not succeed. Sorry. I will look at these links and try to create a better team with stuff from Gen V as well as thinking about all threats. Thanks for your comment.
  6. As far as I renember, Excadrill is banned in competitive battling. Apart from that, I think it would be wise to exploit Tyranitar's physical damage instead of his special. I'd say to swap Fire Blast for Rock Edge (can still kill Grass, Bug and Ice, and has a bonus of being good against air as well) and Ice Beam for Earthquake. You won't be as good against other Ground enemies, but many Grounds are also Rock. Main threats would be Quagsires and Swamperts. Maybe swap Pursuit for Grass Knot to take care of these, but it's your call. I like your Gliscor set up. Maybe give him Power Trick (egg move) instead of fling+acrobatics so he can improve his attack, since he will be not using defence too much due to protect, and add in a flying move of your choice, or maybe U-Turn for a quick escape when things go bad. As I said before, Excadrill (I believe) is banned in competitive. Maybe replace with Nidoking for a less bulky but still reasonably effective sweeper: Nidoking @Choice Band/Choice Scarf EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature Ability: Poison Point -Earthquake -Stone Edge -Poison Jab/Megahorn -Sucker Punch Stoutland is fine, a great setup as far as I can tell. Eh, I don't know much about the other two. I haven't played Gen V too much since my bro lent it to a friend without asking me. Someone else will probably comment on them though.
  7. Would it be better if I swapped the team to a more focused Physical damage team? I don't have Gen 5 yet, my bro rented it to a friend without asking me and hasn't gotten it back to me yet. This is a Gen 4 team. See above. Explosion is because, by the time Azelf is done Stealth rocking and taunting, he would of already been beaten down quite a lot, if even alive. Explosion still hits high even without Attk EVs. Ok, I'll add in some different Physical sweepers. Edit: Added.
  8. Virizion @ Life Orb Nature: Jolly Ability: Justified EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Attk / 252 Spd Role: Wall breaker. - Swords Dance - Close Combat - Leaf Blade - Hidden Power Ice Comment: Virizion was chosen so I can break down the opposing team’s walls in order for my other physical sweepers to clear up. It struggles against Skarmory, though. Threats: Skarmory (Solved by Magnezone) Gliscor (Solved by Landorus) Magnezone @ Air Balloon Nature: Timid Ability: Magnet Pull EVs: 36 HP / 252 SPAttk / 220 Spd Role: When Skarmory or other steels get sent in, Magnezone can trap them and destroy them. - Substitute - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power Fire - Flash Cannon Comment: Magnezone, with this set, can either switch in on a ground type move due to the Air Balloon, and kill the common Tyranitar with Flash Cannon, or easily trap and kill steels. This guy normally goes after Virizion so as to kill any steels that come in against it, specifically Skarmory. He can also take out waters for the Ground sweepers. Threats: Fire-Types (Solved by Terrakion, Landorus and Tyranitar) Special Walls: Solved by Physical sweepers and specifically Virizion. Tyranitar @ Air Balloon Nature: Sassy Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 64 SPAttk / 192 SPDef Role: Tyranitar comes in after Virizion if no steels appear. He can take a reasonable amount of damage, and can kill Gliscor and Landorus with his air balloon. - Stealth Rock - Crunch - Fire Blast - Ice Beam Comment: Tyranitar is the anti-Gliscor and Landorus, the only two other guys who could stop Virizion breaking the walls. He also sets up the important Sand Stream for the other two sweepers. Threats: Water Types (Solved by Mangezone and Virizion) : Ground Types (Solved by Balloon and Landorus) Terrakion @ Life Orb Nature: Jolly Ability: Justified EVs: 4 HP / 252 Attk / 252 Spd Role: Primary sweeper for after walls have died. Substitute against revenge killers then power up with Swords Dance, and sweep. It is very good at killing Special Sweepers, or Special revenge killers.. - Substitute - Swords Dance - Close Combat - Stone Edge Comments: Main sweeper. Sandstorm helps him crush enemy Focus bands. Substitute then Swords Dance for high power. Threats: See Tyranitar. Air (Solved by Magnezone and Tyranitar) Landorus @ Choice Scarf Nature: Jolly Ability: Sand Force EVs: 252 Attk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Role: Secondary Sweeper / Revenge Killer - Earthquake - Stone Edge - U-turn - Hammer Arm Comment: A backup sweeper and a fast revenge killer. Cannot break past bulky walls, so requires my other Pokémon to take them down first. U turn for when things turn ugly. I chose Hammer Arm instead of a HP Ice because I won’t be staying in for much more than a turn with this guy. Threats: Ice types (Solved by Reuniclus) : Dragons (Solved by Tyranitar and Virizon) Reuniclus @ Life Orb Nature: Bold Ability: Regenerator/Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SPDef Role: Special Sweeper - Calm Mind - Recover - Psychic - Focus Blast Comment: If Virizion fails to break down the physical walls, Reuniclus comes in and kills them with a Focus Blast after a quick Calm mind to kill the most popular Skarmory and Bronzong if Magnezone gets stuck on Blissy. It can Focus Blast to hurt even a very tanky Blissy quite hard, and take a hit from the switch in, unlike my physical sweepers. It can recover to heal, then blast away Tyranitar with a focus blast, Infenape with Psychic and can still hit hard with a STABed Psychic on Gliscor. It can also easily kill ices with focus blast. Threats: Ghost types (Solved by Tyranitar) : Dark Types (Solved by Virizon and Terrakion) PS: What is better for Reuniclus. Magic Guard or Regenerator? He will be swapping reasonably often and using life orb.
