In doing so, paralleling translations and a lot of time in prayer. <p><p><p><p><p>Anyways...the KJV I've got is just New Testament + Psalms + Proverbs....the three things I read most of, anyways. It's slimline and fits easily into my pocket. I've been taking up reading it though, and it does open up a bigger picture, which is AWESOME.</p></p></p></p></p>

President Obama actually said some good things about it though...and is endorsing that it be put back into its rightful place (Apparently the Bush administration was the cause for it being so....secretive)</p></p></p></p></p>
<p><p><p><p><p>Well, it's intolerable to bring a Bible to school where I'm at, too. We've got a Bible club, but the principal has not allowed for us to hang meeting posters all year, instead, it's all by word of mouth. Like first-century Christians!! <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin.png" alt=":D" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p></p></p></p></p>

<p><p><p><p><p>Happy National Day of Prayer! :] I spent it well...brought my personal KJV to school and sat and read it whenever I had free time. I guess I haven't picked it up in so long...I can actually read and understand it now! (Although, next to the Lord's help I credit American Lit, when we had to read a bunch of stories in similar old-english!)</p></p></p></p></p>

If I took the time I could adequately understand the KJV, but I, too, am yet another one of those blasted lazy Americans! Any type of read that is poetic captures me, another reason why I love the NLT. I captures the poetic force of the KJV quite well, especially in the Psalms, I think. :]</p></p></p></p></p>

Not dissing the King Jimmy or anything, because I use it on occassion, myself. I enjoy paralleling Bible translations...</p></p></p></p></p>

My thoughts are that because every version of the Bible was handwritten back then, some people probably just left things out (perhaps by accident, like how if you're rewriting a long essay and you skip a line)</p></p></p></p></p>

Because it's better to laugh than to take offense, you know? :] I've learned from past mistakes. I can't argue with people who don't know what they're talking about! (Unfortunately that happens all the time with even IRL friends, even when I've made clear my sarcasm or whatever)</p></p></p></p></p>
