OKay thanks! Can you tell me how to use PokeGen then? Tutorials are never detailed enough. Also, do I have to be using an emulator for PokeGen?

Hi everyone, i'm new here and I really want to get into competitive battling. I'm trying to figure out pokesav, but all of the tutorials tend to start after getting whatever you need to begin Saving. Can someone give me instructions from the top? Basically meaning, all I have is a DS, and a Pokemon White game card. What do I need to get and what do I need to do to start saving? I would appreciate a response very much, thanks
