My first level 100 THAT I TRAINED was Blastoise in Blue Version <3 Blastoise. I haven't gotten one in Platinum without cheating haha >.< I believe the word lazy comes into play here.

Just make sure you save before entering into the whole entire conversation (IT'S LONG)

And when you battle your Rival you will be able to tell if your Pokemon is shiny or not =]

Right now there I doubt there's much of a need for one... Barely enough drawn/etc art posted, let alone literature. I love reading and such though, so I wouldn't mind if there started being a need for one.

In platinum I use a Bibarel for Surf/Waterfall/Cut/Defog and something else and a spare Geodude for Strength/Rock Cimb/Rock Smash

Agreed with bob. Isn't that kinda stereotyping? It's not so nice to depict "emo kids" in a game don't you think? Rather you can substitute them for... I don't know... try something else for a Dark type trainer... like "Count" or something... but no emo kids
