  1. Anyone know the author of the text file?

The author actually registered an account on here, and posted in this thread a couple pages back.

    Here:

Hi, I'm the guy who made the full story translation. (By the way, I just made a version with Romanji names and linked it at the top of the original, if anyone wanted that.)

I've been working on my own English patch (including NPCs and such) based on version 3 of the menu patch. I've done almost everything (except some trainers on Route 3) up to the N fight before gym 2, although there are things like accessing PCs, using Cut, etc. which I haven't been able to find. If you guys are interested in using my translation, what do you think would be the best way to cooperate on this?

  2. heh, in Upper Hiun City, first building on the right, 47th floor, there was a guy speaking in German. Dunno if that's intentional or not, but I figured I'd mention it.

Also, I saw Arty being called both Arty and Arti.

    tacticalbread@toothpaste:~/Pokemon-Black-White-Translation-Files/0000$ grep -w Arti *.txt
    0000.txt:Arti
    0176.txt:Arti
    tacticalbread@toothpaste:~/Pokemon-Black-White-Translation-Files/0000$ grep -w Arty *.txt
    0190.txt:Arty

  3. 516mb yeah am sure its fake

lol did you even look at it? It's both Black and White.

    256 + 256 = 512.

but regardless, it's already been established that it's simply v3 masquerading under the guise of a 'v6'

    EDIT:

    Also, back on topic:

Janobii vs Meguroko, Meguroko used Torment, and it said 'Janobii something quarrel 2'

lol. Placeholder made it into the patch. ;P

  4. I doubt that they would do anything about this or even know about this, I mean why would they even search for it?

Because they're a huge corporation, with thousands of employees, and they like to get paid. They're obviously going to keep tabs on anything that might cause them to make less money, like a translation.

Sony keeps very close tabs on the PSP hacking scene, and I'm sure Nintendo does the same for the DS.

Translating a game isn't illegal and I'm sure Nintendo knows about it like you said. It's under the "Fair use" law if I do believe.

I don't know if it's illegal or not, but I do know that many a translation project has been shut down by a cease and desist letter from a corporation.

  5. But isn't it also illegal what we're doing here? I mean, Nintendo would rage if they found out about fans translating their game faster than the official team. (Even though I could care less since I support you guys, but just sayin' :P)

And what makes you think they don't know? One, they're not idiots, and two, this isn't exactly hard to find, or hidden in any way.
