  1. Right I've given up with that approach - I left it on all night and it still wasn't finished in the morning - that's over 15 hours I've bought a NDS Save Adaptor thingy from Amazon instead which lets you hook up your DS games directly to your computer via a USB port to modify the saves, hope it comes soon so I can rescue my poor stranded Pokemon lol
  2. Brilliant, thank you. My Flashcart is an N5 Revolution or something like that, it's not very good (runs down my battery in less than 30 mins) but it seems to be working - it's currently sending the save over to my computer very, very slowly... it's been 5 hours already lol If I had a slot 2 device then believe me I'd use it, I expect it'd take a fraction of the time... *sigh*
  3. Right I've been looking around and found out about a program called SavSender for DS and SavReceiver for PC which should allow me to get access to my save on my original cart right? Link here: http://www.teamcyclops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492 I can then edit it and send it back, and hopefully get access to the Pokemon currently stranded on the Ranch...
  4. No don't worry, I'm not that daft haha I was using a flash cart to try to connect but it kept freezing on me and I wasn't sure if My Pokemon Ranch wasn't liking the fact that it wasn't an original or what. Do you know of anywhere I can get a device to hook up my official Pearl cartridge to my PC so that I can edit the save directly, rather than have to use a flash cart at all? I'd much prefer to just be able to work with the original cartridge and back it up from time to time too... Out of curiosity, how do I find out my secret ID (I actually didn't know this existed until I was investigating PokeSav this morning) from a Pokemon I'd traded out of my Pearl game before it got wiped :frown: Is it as easy as loading the save containing the Pokemon and selecting 'Edit' to see it's info? Thanks for your help btw
  5. Hello all, this is pretty much a last ditch attempt to recover at least a little of my game data so if anyone can help then it would be much appreciated. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure whether to put it under the Pokemon Pearl/My Pokemon Ranch topics instead. Anyway, I'll explain what happened first: Essentially I work in a store which sells games, consoles, etc and yesterday after my shift was finished I was using a preowned DS Lite along with my own DS lite to transfer some Pokemon between my Soul Silver version and Pearl version. My Pearl version is essentially my 'big' save, I had 450 Pokemon including many event legendaries (e.g. Shaymin, Jirachi from the recent UK events) - not a single hacked Pokemon (e.g. nothing from the GTS lol) and had spent over 340 hours on it. I think it's safe to say that it's the closest I've ever come to 'completing' any of the Pokemon games. Well there were a few Pokemon that I'd managed to obtain in SS (the legendary dogs, etc) that I didn't yet have in Pearl, hence why I was trading them over. Well I got 5/6 Pokemon transferred succussfully, then on the final trade the preowned DS with my copy of Pearl decided to have a little breakdown and came up with a blue screen saying 'the data could not be written' or something along those lines. I rebooted the game only to be greeted by the lovely screen which reads "The save data has been erased due to corruption or damage." The game then begins right from the start all over again. I honestly could have cried. So last night while racking my brains for a way to recover anything I remembered that I have several hundred Pokemon stored in My Pokemon Ranch on the Wii. Now I'm fully aware that if you delete your save you can no longer access any of the Pokemon deposited from it, even with a new game on the same cartridge... but what if I were to send my save file to my computer using savSender/savReceiver and use the PokeSav save editor to make a save file with the exact same name and OT number as my old, corrupted save then would I be able to retrieve the Pokemon stored on the Wii? This would be better than nothing for sure. I attempted this briefly last night but the game seemed to freeze every time I selected 'connect to wii' from the main menu... has anyone ever managed to connect a dowloaded copy of D/P to the Wii this way? I mean actually genuinely done it yourself, or been in the same room when someone you knew did it: i honestly don't care if your second cousins' little sister's best friend says she's done it - this isn't proof. Any help here would be massively appreciated - I just want my pokemon that I'd spent so long catching/trading/levelling/etc back Thanks folks, Dinkyfish
