For now, yes. However, I'm sure hackers will work at it, and there's a small chance of success. I can't say for sure, because the game isn't out yet. It may be hackable, it may not be.
Well, all I can say is I hope we can use Pokegen on it because if not, that'll be the end of Competitive Pokemon for me.
That is unless of course Gamefreak re-work the mechanics and make it more reasonable to raise a competitive team.

3DS saves can be accessed via USB devices, though they are encrypted. Games that need more save storage will save additional data to the SD card, also encrypted. So, save editors will need access to both, which may or may not have system/cartridge specific encryption (if there's not, there's a small chance of an editor, if there is, almost certainly no). There's also the chance that the save on the SD card might be updated as to the structure (after an update), so the save editor would also need to be updated in that case, further complicating the issue.
So, I think it unlikely (for now, anyway) that save editing will arise. As for Action Replay, a system exploit would need to be found. Hackers secretly found one, but Nintendo already fixed it. There is currently no way to run homebrew on the 3DS, so no Action Replay (unless Datel somehow gets a license from Nintendo, but that probably won't happen).
So to simplify it, does that mean Pokegen is coming to an end? and we will all have to play the game normally?
-
nintendo 3DS prevents hacking devices (action replay etc)
games ...well i dont know
To be fair, there are alot of 3DS Roms on the Internet. I've seen some for Mario Tennis Open and Kid Icarus Uprising so assuming we can do the same for Pokemon X & Y, we will be able to Pokegen the save files like we do for the current games.
The only catch is we may not be able to do it for the actual games, only roms.
-
lol, baseless speculation
save files can be ripped/written afaik, so they can't block them out.
If that's the case then how come not a single 3DS game has been hacked yet?

I've been hearing some rather nasty rumors that the 6th Generation is going to lock out all programs known as Pokesav and Pokegen.
If this is true it is really going to hurt the competitive side of Pokemon as now everyone will have to train and breed the old way.
If this happens, it's going to turn me away from the competitive scene completely because I simply do not have the time in my life to tackle such a huge task.
Anyone have updates on this that I am not aware of?

This is an awful, horribly inefficient code, but it appears to work. I've only tested it for Pokemon Black.
I took KazoWAR's "Random Music in Wi-Fi battles" code and changed a bunch of lines to "00000000." The result? NO MUSIC (but yes sound FX) in Wi-Fi / Vs. Recorder battles. Note that this does NOT mute low-HP music, unfortunately.

I just checked, and this code IS compatible with the "No Low HP music" code! So put 'em both together, and no music in Wi-Fi / Vs. Recorder battles AT ALL!
I've recently tried this code on my Pokemon White and sadly it dosen't work
I'm guessing the reason is because i'm trying it on Pokemon White and clearly at the top, it says Pokemon Black
Is there any chance someone could make a code like this just for Pokemon White?
Or is there something else i'm supposed to do like a button input or something?

Hi guys
I have been thinking lately about pokemon formes like Shaymin & Giratina and i've been wondering, wouldn't it be cool if we could choose what pokemon should have a new forme?
So here is my question for you
If you could choose a pokemon to have a new forme, what pokemon would you choose?
Me, personally, think Regigigas because I feel he deserves it
-
I wouldn't reccoment Absol, weavile and tyranitar on your team as their all weak to fighting type moves.
What other 3 pkm are you thinking of usin?
-
Hello everyone, how are you all?
I am here to ask you a question about walls
What Pokemon would you say is the ultimate wall?
I've asked a dousen people and most of them have said Arceus for the following reasons
1. It can learn Recover, Cosmic Power and Seismic Toss
2. It has decend def and sp.def
3. Its the only pokemon which you can control its type
But I wanna know what you guys think
-
Um i believe the highest is like 60%. Isn't a flinch inducing move 30%, plus serene grace that doubles it.
Serene grace effects critical hits?
I thought serene grace double add on effect that moves have
Sure your not thinking of super luck?
-
Hi guys, here I am with another pkm-related question
How does the ratio of critical hits work?
According to Bulbapedia the highest ratio is 50%

Focus Sash won't help you if Stealth Rocks cut off your health and constant sandstorm on non Ground/Rock/Steel Pokemon
Focus Sash only works when your Pokemon is at full health... and seeing the omnipotence of Stealth Rocks and Sandstorms... those berries can be useful at times. Also, some Pokemon won't be knocked out immediately, so Focus Sash would be kind of a wasted item on it. Take Swampert for example. It is designed to take hits, so Focus Sash won't be of much help there. Now if you equip a Rindo Berry (a Grass reduction berry), Swampert will have taken the grass damage, surviving, and OHKOing, let's say, an Infernape who used that Grass Knot back with Earthquake. Now Swampert has plenty of health to spare (40%ish) and can still take physical hits. These items are dependent on which Pokemon you use. Focus Sash is for those frail Pokemon while those berries can help bulkier Pokemon survive one hit of its weakness (Metagross with Occa Berry is a common example).
Thanks alot for the useful information
So basically focus sash is used for pkm that can't really take a hit while the berries are better for bulky pokemon to take a hit
For example
Chople berry is a berry that halves Fighting type damage
This berry would be great for probopass for bastiodon but not very good for Weavile as its defenses aern't that great
Is that correct?
-
As you all know, there are berries that halve damage from a super effective attack.
What gets me is their designed so a pokemon can survive a hit from a weak point but if thats the case, isn't focus sash a better choice?
Basically I wanna know what makes the berries that halve super effective damage so useful

Project Pokemon is 1 of the best websites on the internet for pokemon
Its easy, convenient for events, well designed, moderated by excellent people and best of all, it has me as a member!......rofl, jk
My suggestions for the site?
All the GBA Japanese event pokemon and egg moves in the pokedex
Once all of the above have been furfilled, this website will be better than serebii

Hi guys, I have a question
When Pokemon D/P came out, which game did you get first?
I got Pearl first and diamond a few days later
-
Gyarados able to lean Thunder Wave, Thunder, Thunderbolt?
And Manectric able to learn Flamethrower? it's a very convenient idea, but it's just odd. How does it produce the fire?
Flamethrower and overheat on manectric are good cause it covers grass types that electric type moves don't

No Problem I'll have to take a look through youtube to see if I can find any. Would you happen to have a link to any of these battles? I might be able to chalk up why they would use Thunder on Registeel =\Actually, I think I may have been wrong
It may have been someone trying stuff out
-
Changes in Bold
Thanks, I really don't know why people teach thunder to registeel but if you look on youtube you will find loads of them
-
There are moves that are very common on pokemon but I can't understand why
I'm not saying they suck but I need enlightning on them, they are the following
Avalanche on Rhyperior
Toxic on Garchomp
Fire Blast on Absol
Thunder on Registeel
Thats all I can think up, If anymore pop into my head i'll edit this thread
-
Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on in ages but i'm back now and with a new thread
What are you guys opinions on using a AR to use the new pkm formes on wifi
Do you not care or are you fussy about it?
I personally don't mind if you ask permission first

Hi Guys
I recently have tried to download the Arceus event wonder card into the Platinum Pokesav but i've come across a problem
When it comes to the page where you tick "Enable Mystery Gift" there should be a box to tick called "Enable Gift"
It appears on the Diamond/Pearl Pokesav but not the platinum 1
As a result i'm having trouble getting the event arceus onto my Platinum
Can anyone please help?

Did you ever play G/S/C? When these games came out it was cutting edge. What would D/P/PT be with out the staples? Genders, Breading, pokemon happyness, shinys, night and day based events, specific day events. All of that was introduced way back in G/S. D/P/PT may have the graphics, but G/S started it all.
I have played pokemon since it came out when I was 11. I still have every single pokemon game *loser I know* and I feel that Pokemon would not be what it is today with out all the advancements G/S brought to the table.
NOW back to speculating so I am not off topic. Who here remembers the barber shop under Golden Rod city? Do you think they will have that again? I use to love taking my eevee's there so I could evolve them into Espy/Umbreon.
I have never played G/S/C, my 1st pkm game was coloseeum, so thats why i'm not familiar with it
-
I'm surprised Palkia is in last place
I think he's the best of the 3
-
You mean besides that it is a remake of what is considered the best pokemon game ever? They seem to be adding in a lot of new features. If you check over the thread you will see about your pokemon being able to follow you at any time *which only happened in yellow and only with pikachu* and a bunch of other cool features. I myself am excited for the pokewalker. Go to the first post and read over what is confirmed and what is speculation and you will see why there is such a "fuss" over it.
I am fully aware of all the new features but why is pkm gold and silver the best pkm games?
Plus I think d/p/pt is the best games so far and PBR of course
-
I don't get it. This game looks pretty good but why is everyone creating a real fuss over it?
I mean its only a remake but everyone seems to be going crazy over it.
Can someone enlighten me?
Pokemon X & Y to shut out Action Replay?

From what I can see, there are 2 solutions to this problem
1. Keep Pokegen usable, at the end of the day, we are using the program to merely speed up the process. Other than the ability to say you did it the legit way (Which to me is a pretty silly motive) the end result is the same as if you trained it properly.
2. Rework the raising system. Lets face it people, the reason we all used Pokegen and Pokesav was because we all know Gamefreak designed the raising of competitive Pokemon to be far too tedious so the best solution to this would be to rework how the Pokemon are raised.
I can think of 1 way right off the bat to significantly reduce this: Add all IV's to the EV Training system. Right now we have 6 stats with 31 IV's in each which mounts to 186, just add that 186 to the already existing 510. This way it'll be much easier to controlling the IV's that go into all your stats plus it means all those Individual values that are going to waste on stats that don't matter can be used to stats that do matter.
Maybe this will take some getting used to but I bet that would be a great idea in the long run.
