Ok now when i press L + R and then attempt to check my pokemon party list the game freezes.. *sigh* a new problem appears

Heres 1 i made as a test. not sure what it's for.. i think it was some medcine and a few of the stat reducing berries. What i do is i open the XML file with note pad and copy the code on to my action replay. I've download pokesav , however i can't get any of the created codes to work. I can get them in to the action replay and have checked the cheat, but when i press L + R everything remains the same. I have the UK version of the game if thats counts for anything...
