Did u ever find a solution to your issue? I am trying to figure out if changing the OT (Jap Emerald) will affect the TID and SID making mew illegal for HOME compatibility. I heard there is also a PID that has something to do with legitimacy when it comes to legality. I just want my OT .... like your situation, I used somebody else's save file and i heard that if 2 identical TID SID and PID enter HOME it will be flagged as illegitimate and i dont want my home banned as i have 500(ish) shinies in there...UNLIKE your situation the game recognizes the entire name when i enter it. Im just panicking that if I do find the shiny(however long that may take) it will just be unable to send to HOME and i would've wasted countless hours(presumably.)
