This is actually possible, though janky as OP stated and prone to crashes. Better solution would be from the PKHeX's fork PKHeXMAUI by santacrab2 link here. The interface might be confusing at first, but at least it won't be too tedious to set up. However if you are trying to use the batch editor it'll probably crash. Though if you prefer the original interface, I suggest go for the Winlator method.
