I'm trying to make a hack for black 1, and one of my goals is to remove the professor's speech and the character select screen, but I cannot find any tutorials or leads for the life of me. So far, I have gathered the following: - The text for the section is in text file 44 of the game text - The code is somewhere in one of the overlays (google overview said it was in 27, but it's not a reliable source) Anyone got any pointers or anything? (I also sent this in the discord server for this site as well as some other romhacking servers; I am a desperate man)

I've been trying to change the blink cycle sprite for the player character so it's static (because I replaced the player sprite, and it doesn't line up and looks cursed). However, when I import the sprite into the rom and try to play it, when I reach the first xtransciever cutscene the screen turns black and stops responding. How do I fix this? (Edited sprite is attached)
