Xurkitree

A few years back I was trying to warp myself to the Battle Tree without having to go through all the intervening routes but got stuck at the Altar of the Moone with a black screen. Recently fixed my 2DS battery issue so I'm trying to fix this file as well. How to go about it? Googling shows it should be possible via hex editing but I'm not sure how to do it. mainI've attached one of the file backups I made for it here.
