  1. Hi, just wanted to know if there were any rules or caveats to modifying a caught mon in gen 9 and genning one from scratch? I'm unable to mod my switch so I'm planning to use a sysbot to get pk9 files of my mons ingame, edit them, then trade them over to my game. Will there be any PID mismatch shenanigans if I make my mon shiny or change its IVs? Also, I tested creating a Walking Wake from scratch using the Encounter Database. It appeared I could change everything about it except for its IVs, (non-stat) nature, height and scale, and encryption constant. Any reason why? I assume it's because there are fixed spreads for Tera Raid mons since the error it was giving me was "unable to match encounter from origin game" and I could 'reroll' the values when I clicked on view from the database to refresh the mon.
  2. Hello again, my friend just got his first Switch Pkmn game and wanted to know if anything bad would happen to the illegal mons he genned during the 3DS era if he were to move them to Home? He's only ever used them offline since we know that bringing them to any online feature would get the ban hammer dropped on him. We also did a bit of googling and found that badly genned mons turned into Bad Eggs that permanently take up a slot in Home so he's mainly afraid of that happening. For the record, the mons he has aren't like permanent Megas or mons w/ illegal moves, they're mainly legit ones that have been tweaked a bit aesthetically(?) e.g. he got an Ash-Gren from the SuMo demo but used PkHeX to turn it shiny and changed the OT, TID, and SID to match his own.
  3. I don't have Sw/Sh and am not able to extract the save file for my LA game (or any Switch game for that matter), so I was looking to see if it was possible to inject a legal Gen 8 Pokemon (say, a Cinderace from Sw or a H.Decidueye from Arceus) into a Gen 7 game and then send it up into Home via Bank to bypass needing a working Home tracker ID? It's obvious the game wouldn't recognise the mon, so I'm wondering if the system would change the values on the files to make it conform to a Gen 7 mon one, thereby corrupting it, or if the data is stored as-is and Home would recognise it's a Gen 8 mon once it's been sent up by Bank.
  4. I'm not sure you can do anything as of now, unfortunately, unless you change the origin game to something like S/V and then transfer them in from those games.
  5. Ah, I see. I guess I'll just never transfer them through Home and instead keep them on my game and on my laptop as files, so I guess they'll always be with me in that sense/spirit. I have heard that a group is working on a homebrew version of Home that allows you to transfer up illegitimate mons, is that true and if so, when can we expect it to be done? Also, if I were to use these 'illegal' mons in online play, would the game block me from doing so despite everything else being legal? Again, thank you for your help!
  6. Ah, I see. Unfortunately my own Switch doesn't meet the cutoff. Looks like I'll have to actually get a second Switch like the one you specified above since chip soldering is out of my element, and I don't believe I have the guts to try manually downgrading its firmware (not that I can anyways, since I only own a mac currently). That being said, sorry I didn't manage to clarify what I actually wanted to do to bring my old mons into the current gen. I found a Gamefaq post that's somewhat similar to what I'm doing. I don't have any real way of transferring them up to SV so I was wondering if I could manually recreate them in HeX (albeit not perfectly, the only stuff I want to keep are the origin game, OT name, nickname, ball caught in, and whether or not they're shiny) and then port them over SV before sending them to Home. I understand this isn't possible due to the Home Tracker ID issue, so is there any workaround to this?
  7. Hi, almost completely new to save editing here. I wanted to use PkHeX to "bring" back some mons I had in the older gens that I couldn't quite transfer out of and into the latest games. I've done some research and just wanted to ask a few questions before moving forward. What are the pros and cons of getting a discord bot to trade you your genned mons? One such con to this I can think of is that you can't use your genned mons in games like Legends Arceus. Apart from resorting to the trade bots, is there really no other way for me to edit my save files without having to void the warranty on my Switch by installing homebrew? Say I create 3 different Gen 3 mons and have to alter their TID, SID etc. to make them shiny or have whatever IVs, and then I make their OTs all 'Eggs', will having different TIDs on each mons have any noticeable impact? Would it be practical to buy a second-hand Switch (say, only the tablet/screen) for the express purpose of using it to gen my mons and then trading them to my 'main' Switch? If so, then any chance a Switch bought in '23/'24 is able to successfully be hacked? Thank you in advance for your answers!
