Found the problem super easy solution which I will say just in case anyone else has this problem later on. Save your game through the save button in game instead of using the save and load states in desmume. Then just edit that dsv file in battery and overwrite the sav file when you save changes and just repeat everytime you wanna edit.

So I edited one of my save files and imported it into my game just fine. Everything worked right. When I try to edit my save file again though it is taking me to how the file was earlier on when I edited it the first time. My Pokémon aren’t updated. I’ve tried exporting the save and have tried the dsv and sav files but they are all early in the game. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Please help.
