I am unable to load my FireRed save in PKhex save.sav

When I delete the "main" file from my game, it says "game data corrupted" but it still loads my save states normally. I made sure this was the save data location for my game in citra. When I caught new pokemon, it didn't update in the "main" file so maybe I have the wrong location or something?
