  1. First time posting here, let me know if this is the wrong place to ask this. Earlier today I backed up my save of pokemon soul silver using checkpoint on my 3ds. I've done this several times and had no issues. However, this time when I restored said save and booted up my game it acted as if there was no save file on the cartridge. I panicked and opened up my SD card on my PC to look at the files and the .sav file created by checkpoint was only 8kb big and not the usual 512kb. Unfortunately, I overwrote the old backed up save, so after accidentally restoring this 8kb .sav file it erased all my progress on my cartridge. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there any way to restore my data from this 8kb file? I tried opening the .sav in pkhex and in desmume but it doesn't work there either. I have no idea how this happened. Does checkpoint ever fail when backing up saves and corrupt them? I haven't seen anyone else online complaining about this issue.
