Legality Check Please for Shadow Butterfree XD

What version of pokefinder are you using? I would need to see the changelogs to see if the search method was updated from the version you are using or if it is just some graphical update that omits those results. When I use gen3 PID to IVs, it shows up in 4.2.1. When I use the regular search function in the latest pokefinder 4.2.1, it does not show up. However, in 4.2.0, the changelog says "Fix issue where IVs to PID was incorrect for XD/Colo" so I guess that this is a correct spread. I don't know why the search results are omitted then. Only other way to fact check this is to do frame and seed manipulation in dolphin, but idk how to do that tbh. Eligor's tool doesn't show this spread either. Can't even generate it with the seed "6D0AA645" in pokefinder in the gamecube rng tab. RNG reporter generates it fine. -
Perfect 31 IVs Butterfree. XDcheck & Pokefinder do not popup with this spread. When setting XDcheck to "other" (japanese name), you can get this spread, but this is normally how gift/pokespot pokemon would generate as they are less restricted when RNGing. I found out what anti-shiny and nl pass (nature lock pass) means! Gotcha. I'll keep that in mind when I'm playing colosseum. I couldn't find the trainer feature that was mentioned somewhere that auto generated a pid for the starter eevee. Is it a plugin? Your explanation on shadow locks was pretty good. Reading it back now after a few more articles and smogon research threads, the "repeating loops" makes a lot more sense now. XD has some really complicated rng. So if I have this correct, I think the pokefinder tabs were grouped between non shadow locks and shadow locks because of the way nature lock passing (NL Pass) and anti-shiny spreads works in XD -

Figured out how to use XDcheck. Turns out pokefinder is just as good now. I realized why my genned eevee wasn't showing up legal. It depends on the OT ID/SID. I appended "input('Press ENTER to exit')" to the end of the python script found here (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wiki/TuxSH/PkmGCTools/colosseum_starters_legit_checker.py) so it doesn't just close the console right away. I heard there was a feature to auto-generate an ID/SID in pkhex given the PID, but I couldn't figure out how/where to get that so I ended up using this script instead. For clarification, eevee is synonymous to umbrion when using the script. Ty rinnegan and your post from 2017. This stumped me for a bit. -

I've read from another source that pokefinder may not give an obtainable IV/Nature/PID spread when generated. Do I have to use xdxheck/xdpokemon (https://web.archive.org/web/20180128112937/http://www.geocities.jp/ginzaru_xd/) or are pokefinder 4.2.0+ and PKHex accurate enough to detect legal spreads. Also, what pokemon are shiny locked in this game? I'm reading conflicting answers. Has anyone attempted to RNG a supposed shiny-locked pokemon with a known seed/frame in dolphin? I'm guessing "shadow locked" either means that a pokemon's rng is locked the first time it is loaded in OR it means that it is shiny-locked because it rerolls the PID when snagged OR it means both of those things? TLDR: What is the current consensus for shiny-locked pokes and on how to check legal IV/PID/Nature spreads in XD I am halfway through XD. I'm playing it again because I never beat it as a kid. Even as an adult, I still got lost because I skipped through dialogue that tells me where to go next. This game has TERRIBLE direction! And I love it! Someone needs to make a fan game or rom hack of battle bingo. That sh!t is fun.

Certain rare caviats to MetLevel. There could be specific branches that have unique moves based on the level of the pokemon at that time. That is a possibility, but I have yet to find any circumstance yet of this happening. ie. pokemon learns a move at a certain level in one game and has some sort of impossible moveset because it would have to have been a lower level level in a later generation and a higher level in a previous generation. Plus, there is the issue of certain pokemon having to be metlevel 50 and below for gen3 pokemon to have 8 battle memory ribbon. Also the gen1+2 pokemon having a met level of 70 pre-transfer to get the footprint ribbon. Haven't found a case yet, but that is a possibility.

I was able to use a an alternating combination of =Legal=false .PID=$shiny .EncryptionConstant=*PID & =Legal=false .PID=$rand .EncryptionConstant=*PID to accomplish my goal -

I've posted a power automate script (and the subflow) that automatically control-click, rerolls pid, then shift-click the box slot for an ultra sun/ultra moon save (or whatever has 30 slots). I haven't found another way to do this since batch editing .PID=$rand does not reroll for a legal PID/Nature combo in gen3. It just randomizes it, whereas if you manually click reroll, it gives you a legal combo. Has anyone found a better way? Got all transfer data mapped out for gen3 -> gen7. should have a db with LOTS of notes soon. Ended up using melonds, desemume, and my two 3DS's for "real" transfers to make sure everything checks out. Also hatched a few mons to check for breeding data when transferred upwards. gen3 requires a bit more manual work to be done as nature/IV/PID requires pokefinder/rngreporter. Huge bug with certain moves in bank going way over the pp threshold when transferred from gen1&2. I had to fix those manually as that is not "intended behavior".

I haven’t been able to figure this out and I would like someone with more knowledge on this topic to help me. Given infinite time, tid/sid combos, and seeds from a working battery, are all combinations of IV/Natures theoretically possible? how does pkhex detect the legality of this? I understand that all are possible when breeding as the rng calls for nature/ability/gender are determined at a different time than IVs, but what about method 1 legendaries?

I have also tested this and can confirm that this does happen for legit pokemon in the latest version of 1.5 poketransporter. I am currently doing a bunch of legal checks for pokemon sent up from vc games. This also happened to one of the pokemon in my box in gen 2 that was moved to gen 7 so I can confirm that this can happen in either party or in pc. -
Intro I want a database of all legal combinations of pokemon, so I am creating one. Rules The goal has been a bit more defined. Every possible pokemon and branching paths. Theoretically, If you include all (Bred when possible) Shiny/NotShiny/Natures/Genders/GameMet, branch off to CrossGenerationalEvolutions/Forms/RegionalVariants, and then transfer up through every generation and game on the way, you should be able to get any pokemon with any legal move combo (Abilities can be changed in Gen8+ so this branch is possible post-bank transfer). This does not include Event/MysteryGift Distribution pokemon as those are special cases and can have special Moves/Abilities/Species not normally obtainable in-game. Event/Gift pokes will have to be collected separately. tldr: 1. All (Bred when possible) Shiny/NotShiny/Natures/Genders/GameMet 2. Branches off to CrossGenerationalEvolutions/Forms/RegionalVariants 3. All possible combinations transferred up to current generation 4.
