Azelf322 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 How are people creating codes for events? The event tab in pokesav is greyed out! I would REALLY like to be able to write my own event codes that result in a mystery gift or even a roaming pokemon, both of which HGSS pokesav lacks. I'm sure I'm not the only person that is completely disappointed with how incomplete pokesav is. If some kind developer could continue this ambitious project, I'm sure all of us would be grateful. I could do it myself, but I don't have the hardware.(trainer toolkit, etc.)
Azelf322 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Well... Since no one was kind enough to spell out the process, I figured it out for myself over a few hours. I may as well share the steps with the rest of the world. I'll break it down into steps, too. 1. Download the event in your language from the project pokemon page, which can be found off the main page at the bottom of the column. OR http://http://projectpokemon.org/events/search/lang:EN 2. Download the pokemon generator which can be found in another thread. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?6424-Pokemon-Generator-(Pokesav-replacement-for-Pokemon-editing) Additionally, if using an emulator, your .dsv save file can be loaded and edited using this, if I understand this right. You can even choose your activation key for action replay and save codes in .xml format for the code manager. The link can explain it better than me.
Codr Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 It's important to note that loading the PGT or PCD file doesn't always result in a proper Pokemon. For example, if the PID has a value of 1, it's meant to be generated by the game, as I understand it. Older (generation 3) events are probably different than that too. I'm also not entirely sure how IV generation works or when it's done. Maybe only when all IVs are 0.
