Alpha Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Lately there have been some complaints, so I should at least document these. Some of the staff here put a lot of time and effort into our IRC channels. As most of you know, IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a fast action chat room. Ours are mainly filled with intelligent discussion, so we take spam very seriously. Spam in IRC is different than in the forums, and it is hard to define. The main rule of thumb is that you try to put out reasonable sentences when typing, not smilies. On a single line, you may have text followed by a smilie. If you have an unreasonable number of lines of just smilies, or a random letter (We actually have someone that does this) throughout your visit, then you may be subject to breaking that rule. Offenses start with a kick. Multiple kicks will get you a ban in the IRC. Be careful when arguing a particular offense, for you may have done something wrong without knowing it. Be sure to read the other rules. These rules were made not to penalize, but to maintain intelligent conversation. Even if intelligent conversation is idle, please don't spam.
