Tbird Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Ok So this is actually quite an old battle, but I was looking over my files saved in my 'lalal' folder and found a saved log called 'Best Game so Far.' And after reading it I would probably say this really is the best I've ever played. So I guess the point of this is asking if you would have played any different in any of the situations, your opinion on how I handled situations etc etc... I'll put a score and Commentary Me Team Jackson With on the bench Vs Rain Dance Guy Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause, Soul Dew Clause Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 6 vs Tbird sent out eLora (lvl 100 Roserade ?). _Opponent_ sent out Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi). Jirachi used Trick. Jirachi obtained Focus Sash! eLora obtained Choice Scarf! eLora used Sleep Powder. eLora's attack missed! Ok So I start with eLora, the roserade. The plan is simple get the lead to sleep and set up some Tspikes. As far as I was aware this was your general Scarfachi - so I knew it COULD trick, but, thought it would abuse it's iron heading ways. So I figured in any case, putting it to sleep would be a good move. And if I take a scarf I can put things to sleep faster later on in the game. --- eLora used Sleep Powder. Jirachi fell asleep! Jirachi is fast asleep! Like so... --- vs Tbird switched in Xuanlong (lvl 100 Gyarados ?). Xuanlong's Intimidate cut Jirachi's attack! _Oponant_ switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos). Zapdos is exerting its pressure! What usually happens is I put the lead to sleep and get the hazards up then get out. However this wasn't the case. In knowing that my gyarados is a bulky variant, there are no rocks out and the oponant is fast asleep I decided getting gyarados to set up now would be a good move - I'd out speed jirachi - thus no flinch, and be would have successfully set up on the switch... --- vs Tbird switched in Annata (lvl 100 Lanturn ?). Zapdos used Thunder. ... However he wasn't going to let his jirachi just sit there, so went switched out to a perfect gyarados counter . Enter Annata. --- Zapdos used Rain Dance. Rain began to fall! Annata used Substitute. Annata lost 25% of its health. Annata made a substitute! The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ok I now know that this is a rain dance team. I used sub here because I figured its going to attack specially - not too much damage taken, it will outspeed me so I can get a perfect sub up --- Zapdos used U-turn. The substitute took damage for Annata! _Oponant_ switched in Ludicolo (lvl 100 Ludicolo ?). Annata used Discharge. Ludicolo lost 25% of its health. The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Here I had no idea what to expect so I discharge blindly, hopefully crippling zapdos with paralysis or hurting the next water type switch in --- vs Ludicolo used Energy Ball. It's super effective! The substitute took damage for Annata! Annata's substitute faded! Annata used Discharge. Ludicolo lost 25% of its health. Ludicolo is paralysed! It may be unable to move! The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ludicolo ... good move, he still gets hit for neutral but isn't going to worry too much about the little damage taken. I discharge again as surf would be even less effective ... and hopefully I can paralys this thing before it can really abuse the rain --- Annata used Confuse Ray. Ludicolo became confused! Ludicolo is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Ludicolo lost 9% of its health. The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Now I wasn't sure if he would still outspeed me or not so I didn't want to waste a turn setting up a substitute and it not working. So I figure confusing him now would set me up nicely on the next turn... Luckily I do outspeed him and he doesn't get the chance to move --- Annata used Substitute. Annata lost 25% of its health. Annata made a substitute! Ludicolo is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Ludicolo lost 9% of its health. The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Because I do out speed him, and have a better than 50% of not being hit it's safe to put up a substitute, and thankfully the parafusion God's like me in this game and allow me to not waste 25% on a broken sub. --- Annata used Discharge. Ludicolo lost 25% of its health. Ludicolo is confused! Ludicolo is paralysed! It can't move! The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. And now it is time to start spamming discharge until he goes down. --- Annata used Discharge. Ludicolo lost 6% of its health. _Oponant_'s Ludicolo fainted. The rain continues to fall. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. And there it is :D. --- Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 5 vs _Oponant_ switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi). Jirachi is fast asleep! Annata used Discharge. Jirachi lost 23% of its health. The rain stopped. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Now I can't say I understand the Jirachi switch in here. Maybe it can set up rain dance and he knew that the rain was going to stop. Who knows? All I knew was I am behind a sub ... he isn't, I can get some free damage and paralysis here if he wakes up. So again discharge. --- Jirachi is fast asleep! Annata used Confuse Ray. Jirachi became confused! Make it harder for him to move once he does wake up --- Jirachi woke up! Jirachi is confused! Jirachi used Stealth Rock. Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team! Annata used Discharge. Jirachi lost 21% of its health. Argh ... and there's the rocks. I guess gyarados will have to sit on the bench now . Personally I would have used iron head to try and get rid of this incredibly lucky fish. --- Jirachi is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Jirachi lost 11% of its health. Annata used Discharge. Jirachi lost 19% of its health. Jirachi is paralysed! It may be unable to move! More Parafusion . And luckily he was too busy smacking himself around to break my sub. --- Annata used Discharge. Jirachi lost 20% of its health. Jirachi is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Jirachi lost 5% of its health. _Oponant_'s Jirachi fainted. Discharge spamming for the KO. :D --- Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 4 vs _Oponant_ switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?). Annata used Confuse Ray. Scizor became confused! Scizor is confused! Scizor used Rain Dance. Rain began to fall! The rain continues to fall. I used confuse ray here over discharge because I assumed he would use bullet punch and break my sub. If he's confused it makes Courtland's job a little easier if I have to switch out. I remember also being surprised that I outsped him . --- Annata used Discharge. Scizor lost 20% of its health. Scizor is paralysed! It may be unable to move! Scizor is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Scizor lost 13% of its health. The rain continues to fall. So I am still behind my sub, I may aswell spam discharge until I am forced to switch ... And the hax Gods hand me paralysis on a plate. Thank you --- Annata used Discharge. Scizor lost 22% of its health. Scizor is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Scizor lost 14% of its health. The rain continues to fall. At this point I was confused myself, as I couldn't understand why he wouldn't switch out. Scizor is a very good pokemon, there's no denying that, you'd think he'd want to save it + he was wasting valuable rain turns. though I suppose it's viability is somewhat hindered considering it's paralysed --- Annata used Discharge. Scizor lost 21% of its health. Scizor is confused! Scizor used U-turn. The substitute took damage for Annata! Annata's substitute faded! _Oponant_ switched in Qwilfish (lvl 100 Qwilfish ?). The rain continues to fall. So maybe he was trying to switch out after all. That impressive attack stat is just enough to open up my sub ... and in comes a little bomb with spikes. Time to switch. --- vs Tbird switched in Courtland (lvl 100 Rotom-s). Pointed stones dug into Courtland. Courtland lost 12% of its health. Qwilfish used Explosion. It doesn't affect Courtland... _Oponant_'s Qwilfish fainted. The rain continues to fall. Courtland's leftovers restored its health a little! Courtland restored 6% of its health. Now this actually wasn't great prediction on my part. This was merely me switching to a physical wall, electrocute or burn that thing before it can become deadly. Luckily, the explosion was denied. --- Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 3 vs _Oponant_ switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos). Zapdos is exerting its pressure! Zapdos used U-turn. It's not very effective... Courtland lost 5% of its health. _Oponant_ switched in Kingdra (lvl 100 Kingdra ?). Courtland used Charge Beam. Kingdra lost 24% of its health. Courtland's special attack was raised. The rain continues to fall. Courtland's leftovers restored its health a little! Courtland restored 6% of its health. So kingdra kindly took the charge beam for his buddy --- vs Kingdra used Draco Meteor. Courtland lost 83% of its health. Kingdra's special attack was harshly lowered. Kingdra lost 10% of its health. Courtland used Will-o-wisp. Kingdra was burned! The rain continues to fall. Kingdra was hurt by its burn! Kingdra lost 12% of its health. Courtland's leftovers restored its health a little! Courtland restored 6% of its health. Here I was expecting DDance or even waterfall. Unfortunately courtland took a huge hit ... and Kingdra took a burn that it didn't mind. --- vs Tbird switched in Annata (lvl 100 Lanturn ?). Pointed stones dug into Annata. Annata lost 12% of its health. _Oponant_ switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos). Zapdos is exerting its pressure! The rain stopped. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. So, to get out of a special atacks dodge, I figured special wall annata should come in, and take the weakened follow up draco meteor. I guess that kingdra really was a physical attacker as it switched out from the burn. --- vs Zapdos used U-turn. Annata lost 12% of its health. _Oponant_ switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?). Annata used Substitute. Annata lost 25% of its health. Annata made a substitute! Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ok so I have no sub and he's switched zapdos back in. I again figure rain dance is coming so I set the substitute up. I guess he thought that I was scared that annata was exposed. So he U-Turned to scout for my team, possibly? In any case I now have a sub and enough discharges to power a whole pokeworld. --- vs Annata used Discharge. Scizor lost 10% of its health. _Oponant_'s Scizor fainted. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Scizor becomes death Fodder. --- Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 2 vs _Oponant_ switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos). Zapdos is exerting its pressure! Zapdos used U-turn. The substitute took damage for Annata! _Oponant_ switched in Kingdra (lvl 100 Kingdra ?). Annata used Confuse Ray. Kingdra became confused! Kingdra was hurt by its burn! Kingdra lost 12% of its health. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. So again in comes Zapdos. Now I just want to confuse it and hopefully get my parafusion on once again. Alas Kingdra comes instead takes the confuse ray. --- vs Kingdra is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Kingdra lost 8% of its health. Annata used Discharge. Kingdra lost 30% of its health. Kingdra was hurt by its burn! Kingdra lost 3% of its health. _Oponant_'s Kingdra fainted. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. And this is really why Lanturn is so effective. If I have set Tspikes up, and the opponent comes in and gets toxiced + confused, it will generally have a hard time hitting me. Just like as you see here. Discharge isn't really that strong coming off of lanturn, but with all the passive damage being inflicted it becomes really quite deadly. I mean that kingdra just took 51% from it in only one turn. --- Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 1 vs _Oponant_ switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos). Zapdos is exerting its pressure! Zapdos used U-turn. The substitute took damage for Annata! Annata used Confuse Ray. Zapdos became confused! Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. and then there was one. And the plan is simple ... Parafusion parafusion parafusion! --- Zapdos is confused! Zapdos used Roost. But it failed! Annata used Discharge. Zapdos lost 22% of its health. Zapdos is paralysed! It may be unable to move! Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ok .. Yay for parafusion. But oh no it has roost. Which means it only has to attack 1/2 turns to be back at full health. I'm going to spam discharge once more just to see if I can get the job done. --- Annata used Discharge. Zapdos lost 20% of its health. Zapdos is confused! Zapdos used U-turn. The substitute took damage for Annata! Annata's substitute faded! Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Oh no it's not working . --- Annata used Discharge. Zapdos lost 23% of its health. Zapdos snapped out of confusion! Zapdos used U-turn. Annata lost 13% of its health. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ok this isn't going well. --- Annata used Confuse Ray. Zapdos became confused! Zapdos is confused! Zapdos used Roost. Zapdos restored 50% of its health. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 6% of its health. Ok... try again. --- Annata used Discharge. A critical hit! Zapdos lost 45% of its health. Zapdos is confused! It hurt itself in its confusion! Zapdos lost 5% of its health. Annata's leftovers restored its health a little! Annata restored 0% of its health. Yay crit ... boo lack of confusion + roost --- Annata used Discharge. Zapdos lost 22% of its health. Zapdos is confused! Zapdos used Roost. Zapdos restored 50% of its health. More of the same. --- vs Tbird switched in Mr Jackson (lvl 100 Ambipom ?). Pointed stones dug into Mr Jackson. Mr Jackson lost 12% of its health. Zapdos snapped out of confusion! Zapdos used Roost. Zapdos restored 38% of its health. Ok it was about now I was bored of stall wars .. and just prayed for a free switch in. Which IU got. --- Mr Jackson used Fake Out. Zapdos lost 26% of its health. Mr Jackson lost 10% of its health. Zapdos flinched! And now it's time to do what Mr Jackson does so well. --- Mr Jackson used Return. Zapdos lost 44% of its health. Mr Jackson lost 10% of its health. Zapdos used Roost. Zapdos restored 50% of its health. ^ ^ ^ My face dropped. It was somewhat remiscent to the small guy punching the big guy in the bar ... landing a perfect shot to the guys head ... and the big just seems to get angry... --- Mr Jackson used Return. Zapdos lost 42% of its health. Mr Jackson lost 10% of its health. Zapdos is paralysed! It can't move! .. So like any short guy I just keep swinging --- Mr Jackson used Return. Zapdos lost 38% of its health. _Oponant_'s Zapdos fainted. And swinging. * the old Street fighter cut scene plays in my mind, as zapdos falls flyong ... making that weird "URGHER URGHER URGHER" sound* Tbird :6 _Opponent_: 0 Tbird wins! Tbird: gg _Oponant_ has left the room. So yeah .. the best game I've had. I realise there are probably better thought out teams with better understanding of competitive battling and better prediction. But this was my best. What's your opinion? Thanks for reading
crimson assassin Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 great warstory man Loved the commentary you're a natural at writing these. but only suggestion I have is dont post 6-0 mataches because you know it lacks the drama factor. I like warstories that keep me guess who will win untill the end with 6-0's it's kind of like well he is playing good but he has had control the entire match so we know how it is going to end ya know. But even with that your writing style kept me reading so good job

Thanks for the comments though everyone.
