James1431997
Hi. I've somehow mucked my HGSS save up by mucking about with item codes. Let me explain; I was using a code to give me every item in the bag, but I didn't have to encounter the Rocket Grunt in Cerulean Gym etc. Now, I can't find Misty anywhere, so I think I need to hack her badge. PokéSav doesn't support event editing. PokéSav with Windows Enabler only has the first Eight Badges as an option. PPSE won't read my save file, and only has the first 8. PPSE-DS won't work as I don't have a flashcart to run it on and can't emulate a FAT filesystem. Can anyone help me work out how to fix this? Thanks in advance, James. P.S. I've attached my SAV file as PokéSav saves it. [Patched] Pokemon HeartGold.SAV
Guested
Welll, a lot of people just seem to have problems with this event anyway. Have you tried going to the Power Plant yet? The burglar doesn't show up at the gym until they get the call that he's been sighted there. Also... messing around with key items and badges always seems to mess up the normal chain of events. If all else fails, you can resort to hex editing, if you're up for researching it and doing a little extra legwork.

Riolu Aura Sphere Now
You can use an Action Replay and use one of the following codes! bluesteel
I was more looking for insight on the hex editing or maybe trying PPSE-DS. What happened was: I showed up at Cerulean City, checked the gym out, nobody was there. Went to the Power Plant, gave the man the Machine Part (I was using a sav with all key items). Rocket Grunt doesn't show up anywhere, machine part not hidden in normal location. Misty and Bill aren't where they're supposed to be. I guess I could always fill in the badge and go on, but I'm trying to kid-proof this for my brother so he can play through with no issues.

Note 2: When the Misty Event is reset, you must find the Machine Part that had been stolen by the Rocket Grunt.
bluesteel
Thanks, that'll help a lot! I guess I'll eliminate the Machine Part from any files I make for 12 year-olds.
James1431997
Thanks! I'll do that when I next play. =) EDIT: Is there any way to get that to work with a japanese game save? EDIT 2: I've sorted it. Don't worry. Thanks. Edited June 12, 2010 by James1431997
