So once your next update is out, it should be easier to put in our own custom starters for personal use? I'd honestly really like to play as a Helioptile if I could, it's one of my top favorite pokemon! I considered asking you directly, but I didnt want to because I respect if that'd go against your vision for the hack, or if you just didn't want to accept requests for any reason, it is your project after all!

it should, but in your case it won't be necessary, because Helioptile's one of the starters I'm adding in 1.2!

Hi, I was considering playing this again, but I'll probably wait for 1.2 to be out.

Do you have a list of all the starters currently in + the ones you're planning on adding? It's probably already been asked, but I'd like Ralts and want to know if they're either going to be added in or would it be possible to add.

the current list is in this thread's OP, and 1.2 will add Helioptile, Rufflet, Alolan Sandshrew, Elgyem, Jangmo-o, Larvitar, Houndour, Sobble, Sprigatito, Venipede, Murkrow, Pidgey, Charcadet, Noibat, and Ralts.

That is one amazing list of pokemon, didn't even realise I wanted like half of these. I'll be eagerly waiting for 1.2, thank you!

Hey i am wondering,

Does this mode also make the base game a bit harder? 

i am not looking for kaizo anoyance where there are so many pp traps and stuff. but maybe enemies have a new move, or a bit higher lvl.

i do love the addition of some shiny / evolutions. those are fun to fight. 

might also be since i am on chapter 7 atm that diffeculty will get harder.

no, Fortune is not harder than the base game, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

I was curious about megas since I see you added some and was wondering if you were planning to add the rest or add them as evolutions EG hondour since he’s a starter coming up

funnily enough, me and a couple others in the SkyTemple server have created a functioning in-dungeon form change system (well.  mostly one guy who was very happy to help), so 1.2 will no longer use evolution for Megas!  

that said, with the limited number of dummy entries for Pokemon that I have left, I do have to be a little discerning with what I add.  if I do add more Megas, I will have to consider stuff like how "necessary" they are for that Pokemon.

Would it be possible to have the starting info for starters available on the selection screen so people will know what they have?

I've been looking for Milcery for a while now but couldn't find them. Where can I find them?

Initially I thought they could be in Star Cave but they never spawned there..

Ah sweet! Excited to start with Jangmo-o when the update releases! I never get the chance to use 'em in mainline pokemon cause I typically have either a Dragon type, Fairy type or Fighting type whenever they can be found lol

I don't know where I would post it other than her so

Tapu Koko is a size 2 Legendary but Tapu Fini is a Size 1. I don't know if this is intentional, or an oversight/bug so I wanted to point it out.

size as a mechanic is dictated by the sprite's size.  you can only have so many/big sprites in your party before things get glitchy and bad.  Tapu Koko needs to be a size 2 because of its sprite, nothing more.

Hi Whimsy, first off i wanna thank you for the rom. You did a fantastic work, when when i get to other mystery dungeon titles, i hope to find roms that are just as good as yours.

 

That being said, i have some things i want to ask: how many stars does Loppuny need to mega evolve? I've been feeding her gummies non stop and going to luminous lake multiple times to check, and this back and forth is getting a bit annoying.

Another thing, that quest you added about giving the robot Pokemon on the beach items is a bit of a chore (not in a good way) cause i feel like I'll be done with the rest of the game and want to move on to the next title before i can get all her items.

I'm currently at the AI Brooch item, and i saved just before finishing a mission so i can get to the next day, run to the clan, check the cauldron, and go back on the save until i get the item (I'm at sharpedo, so it's quite a walk to get there). I can't fathom how someone can do this fairly, specially cause they will only think about keeping an eye on the AI brooch once the mission task shows up, and by then the person will be at endgame cause the previous items are just as hard to obtain.

Also, imo, i think you should raise the shiny catch rate to 100%. They are extremely rare, so it's not like it would break the game or anything, and whenever i find them, i feel like the hype is over as soon as i kill them. My first shiny in this game was a charizard, and it was such a letdown to defeat him and not get anything worthwhile, like a black Charizard on the team.

1. uhhhhhhhhh I'm.  not sure.  1.2 will make mega evolution a proper form change so IQ will be irrelevant, and I uh.  maaaaaaaaaaaay have already emptied the "required IQ" field, oops.

2. yeah I know that one's kinda jank.  I have been considering ways to improve the process, haha.  I'll definitely look into it some more before I release 1.2.

3. I dunno about this one.  Shinies are a lot more common (rrrrroughly 1/200) than they are in mainline (1/4096) and there are ways to improve that further.  (monster houses, ~1/50)  making them guaranteed recruits would be overkill imo

oh I should mention you can force a monster house in any dungeon that gets jobs (whether it can naturally have monster houses) by taking a job where an outlaw will spring a monster house on you.  very convenient for Shiny hunting imo

also 1.2 will introduce a feature where you can exchange a new item for a random guaranteed Shiny, if that interests you!

1. Sorry, i didn't quite get that part. I understand that you want to change mega methods, but by "emptying the required IQ field" do you mean that it's currently impossible to get mega Loppuny no matter how many IQ she has as of now?

I personally have just been playing normally so my shiny encounters have been rare (and assume that lots of average players are like that too). either way that new item is a cool addition. I feel like you could at least double the shiny catch rate (From what I've seen most catch rates are below 10%, so an increase to 20 isn't that crazy) just so shinies don't become a huge let down as soon as you defeat them.

I'm not going to stay around for too long for your updates cause I want to play all mystery dungeon titles (sky is my first), but thanks for the Rom so far, adding the QoL + the several other Pokemons without changing the story was exactly what I wanted in a ROM. 1, no, it should be fine in your instance, it just means I can't check it myself rn, haha

there...aren't really any hacks for the other titles as far as I'm aware.  maybe one or two for Rescue Team, but

Hey, I just downloaded this game yesterday and I’m loving it so far! I don’t have a switch so it’s nice to finally be able to play a Pokémon game with some of the newer additions. My question is do base explorers of sky cheats work with this ? I tried using them but it seemed like they had no effect so I was wondering if there was any way to use cheats in this version.
