Is it possible to completely change your OT name in Emerald without corrupting the save file?

I'm new to pkhex and recently bought a GB Operator to back up and edit my original 17/18 year old Emerald save file. One of the things I would like to be able to do is change my OT name since the one I chose as kid is goofy and doesn't match up with the names I've been using in my games since gen 5. I'm assuming I would have to update all the pokemon caught with the old OT to the new one, but would this cause any issues that could corrupt the save file?

Make a backup of your save files prior to the editings, try any editings you want and test if it works.

If PKHeX allows you to edit something, it should work correctly. If it create issues, restore your previous backup and report the issue.
