Toasted Absol anyone? wraith89 wins! wraith89: gg Food: gg FAQs: 1) Who is Food? From now on I'll change all my anonymous opponents' names because just using 'Anonymous' is boring. 2) So what's the deal with sun teams? Sun is the weakest weather in the standard metagame, but if you can pull it off, you'll have the benefits of having water moves being reduced, Solarbeam requiring no charge, and fire moves being 1.5x more powerful! It also benefits some Grass Pokemon (for many have Chlorophyll) and all of a sudden these bulky slow flora become speed demons with awesome power! Try it out sometime... it can be fun, but in OU, it's pretty hard to pull off. 3) So how do we counter Sun teams? Bring in Abomasnow or Tyranitar when you predict a Solarbeam to change the weather. Then take that 60 BP Solarbeam (it'll hardly hurt Abomasnow as it resists it, and Tyranitar has that bloated Special Defense to work with) and destroy the offender. Usually they're either Fire or Grass Pokes, so stuff like Stone Edge can hit Fire Pokes very well and Ice moves can bust Grass Pokemon. Sun works better in ubers where you have Groudon. Just beware of Kyogres and Rayquazas and the occasional Tyranitars there, who will also shift the weather. 4) How do we build a sun team? I'm still trying to figure this out. This was just something to test with, and so far, Chlorophyll Grass pokes like Exeggutor or Victreebel or Vileplume can work well. Also try to bring in some Fire Pokemon... or stuff that can deal with the weaknesses of your Grass and Fire Pokes. I put almost no thought and put in a bunch of Grass and Fire Pokes together, but I'll continue to develop this team. 5) So what is the best weather in standard metagame? Sand seems to be the most powerful weather for standard. Then follows rain (rain teams can sweep and water moves are VERY dangerous) and then hail and finally sun. But that shouldn't stop you from using the weather you love. As you know, I love hail teams and am always trying to make an effective one out of it. I'm going to try a rain team later, but rain teams are pretty hard to make but very effective if used properly. In ubers though, rain is probably the most powerful weather for we have Kyogre there. Sun and sand can follow... and hail is the weakest in Ubers. 6) What's an Aslan? A lion character from C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia 7) And what's Plein Soleil? 태양은가득히 Er... it's an old French film... literally translated as "Full Sun". It was a really tragic movie, but the soundtrack to it was hauntingly beautiful. I just called it this because... well... it had the name "sun" in it... soleil being sun Thanks to: Entei: There you go! Another not so impressive Pokemon proved to be spectacular! Jumpluff: Because I screwed up her usage by accident Clefable: For being that annoyingly evil fairy that I've always been fighting Trick Room: Why do I ALWAYS somehow fight Trick Room teams?? Tangrowth: Are you sure you're NU? Not with those stats! And I'm using you! Food: For being a tough opponent using a Trick Room team You: For reading.
wraith89 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Original names for... ? My anonymous opponents, the warstory title, the Pokemons' nicknames... or what?
Gin Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Anonymous opponents. I'm just waiting for you to call GC a purple dog.
wraith89 Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 But red is the complementary of green, not purple But you'll see. Right, maybe I'll change his name to "nourriture", which is French for food
Gin Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Red may be the complimentary of green, but as a child, I was horrified by Barney. (purple and green) (I thought he was eating the kids....) Another reason why I hate shiny dragonite.
