Zwei Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I came a cross a video where someone used, Pokegen, IR-GTS and HxD to modify a pokemon and sent to his game and it came out as a bad egg. Now I am wondering what causes bad eggs to occur, does Pokegen if not done properly create bad eggs if sent with IR-GTS? Was it just some error in editing the pokemon with HxD? Have any of you had any similar problems? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9Vr1focN5w
Dreamer Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 He probably edited it with the hex editor and forgot to fix the checksum(i think that's when bad eggs are generated, someone who knows more may want to correct me or elaborate on that)
Zwei Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 If there is a problem with the check sum then the pokemon becomes a bad egg?
ILOVEPIE Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 No bad eggs occur with a national pokedex number higher than 494 so 495 and up 494 is just a plain old egg 493 is the end of the IV national pokedex with arcius
Pink Leon Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Dreamer, you are correct on that. Bad eggs can be generated numerous ways, but it's always caused by a checksum error, which ends in the corruption of the Pokemon's data, causing it to become a bad egg. There is no need to worry if you're a PokeGen user, though. A PokeGen user can always go back and fix the errors, or remove the Pokemon (in which case, the bad egg) from its slot completely.
