Mordecai Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) So, I was wondering if someone could help me with a small problem I have been having. I've been trying to figure out a way to successfully convert .dst save files from Desmume 0.9.6 to .sav files that can be used in No$GBA 2.6a. I mostly just want to be able to use the save file in Pokesav (a save game editor for pokemon games), but after looking through Google for the past week or so, every method I've tried doesn't work, so I'm thinking I have something wrong in my Desmume configuration. Here are the steps I take to save my game in Desmume: File --> Save State As... The "Save Type" is set to "autodetect". I've tried the ShunyWeb online converter (http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php) with my source format set as "Acekard RPG | EZFlash V | RAW Format (.sav)" and my target format set as No$GBA (.sav)". I've tried saving via: File --> Export Backup Memory And then putting the resulting file in the "BATTERY" folder of No$GBA (with save file name matching rom name). But neither of those two methods work. And No$GBA .ini file is already set to "RAW" in case anyone was wondering. If need be, I am more than willing to upload my save files (both the ones saved in No&GBA and Desmume) if it will help. In any case, any and all help is much appreciated. and thanks again for taking your time to help me. Edited March 9, 2011 by Mordecai
OmegaDonut Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 The option you're looking for is File --> Export Backup Memory. Import Backup Memory loads a file into Desmume, doesn't save it.
Mordecai Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Haha, that's what I meant to type. Fixed now. Edit: Alright, I tried converting again, this time using the .dsv save file located in the Desmume "BATTERY" folder instead of the .dst and it worked. Now I can go from DeSmuME to No$GBA. The question now is, how to go from No$GBA to DeSmuME.
Tsujin Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Yeah the .dsv is the save file. To go back just place the No$GBA .sav file into the same place the .dsv save file was. It should read it and create a new .dsv save file. And just to be sure remove the old .dsv save file out of the folder while you do it.
Mordecai Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Awesome, it worked both ways. Many thanks to both OmegaDonut and Tsujin for helping me out.
velazkid Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Hello, I coudl use soem help too, I know this is an old topic though. I tried following what the OP did to no avail. How exactly do I load my save game from Desmume to No$GBA? I can't item codes to work on Desmume so im hoping they will work on NOGBA instead. Then I could save the game there and put it back on Desmume with the items.
