Pkmn platinum rom editing - 2 questions

Hello.

I have two questions about pokemon platinum rom.

1)Any way to edit this screen so you can enter, for example, japanese characters?

I've replaced the whole 'data' folder from the japanese rom to US but the only effect was japan text on buttons (ABC, abc, 123 became japanese).

2)Anybody know this font's name? I want to stylize my own letters (not latin) such way, maybe there is some effect generator/photoshop filter?
