About This File
(Update regarding version 1.2): First, to everyone who has viewed and potentially played this mod I just want to say thank you to everyone, and I hope this mod has been very enjoyable! Second, the reason as to why version 1.2 is taking so incredibly long is due to ongoing life-related things at the moment. Due to the many things I am currently undergoing, version 1.2 has been in an incredibly slow development process, and I cannot put a lot of time into the development of version 1.2 each day. Sorry for the major delay regarding version 1.2, but I have big things planned for the update, and I will hopefully get this update out sometime in the near future.
Looking for a difficulty hack of Pokemon Colosseum? Tired of all the new gen mechanics? Then Kaizosseum is what you're looking for. This is a work-in-progress mod that is currently within its alpha stage, only changing the main game of Colosseum with the following changes:
- No Evs
- Opposing trainers have perfect IVs
- Significant changes to the catchable shadow pokemon
- Shadow pokemon base levels in the early game (during Miror B's split) are higher to compensate for higher levels and the higher level curve present in the game
- Trainer teams are significantly stronger and more developed
- Slightly improved AI
- Pressing R in the overworld opens the PC
- Trade evolutions are set to evolve at Lv 40
- TMs are infinitely usable
- Significantly better shops
- Rare Candies are only 1 poke-dollar
- All pokeball and its variants are about half off or a bit more
There is 1 known issue that I haven't been able to figure out, and that is:
- Rui likes to walk in place when trying to go through the mayor's house cutscene, but can unstick herself from the wall. I recommend leaving Phenac, then coming back to save state in front of the mayor's house, then walking in, because for whatever reason, she tends to not perma softlock walk in place, the save state is just insurance incase she still does.
Outside of the changes and the known issue, this mod with two patches. Patch one has the base game starters of Espeon and Umbreon at Lv 26, and patch two has the player start with Plusle and Minun at Lv 26 with movesets meant for each other and doubles. There will be many kinks to work out, such as adjusting the level caps, weakening trainer pokemon, and weakening the final Grand Colosseum trainer gauntlet, or at least making sure the player heals after each fight, because base game Colosseum makes you run 4 fights in the Grand Colosseum back to back without heals.
Master Documentation sheet for Kaizosseum version 1.1: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TKBhpRu_5pTNFvZ3IT0CWOH-2AVbegtN9WsG-48YV1E/edit?usp=sharing
The changes done to the 1.1 doc remove all the broken hidden powers from pokemon since it was always setting hidden power to dark or fighting based on IVs and nothing else, and the levels got toned back heavily because the curve was too steep and trying to level up pokemon with rare candies is very tedious.
This mod was developed using Stars's Modding tools, the patching idea is from Kya's Grand Colosseum patching method, and the documentation is highly similar to Run and Bun's documentation sheet since I thought the presentation it provided for each of the trainers and their pokemon was perfect for developing the trainers for this mod. If it wasn't for Star's Modding tools and the patching method Kya used for Grand Colosseum, I would have no way to share this mod, let alone make it. I give a huge thanks to Stars, Kya, and the documentation team of Run and Bun!
If there is any constructive criticism based on my mistakes or problems with the mod, I will accept all of it and get to work immediately on version 1.0.2 to remedy the problems!

Released
From some provided feedback, version 1.0.1 fixes some problems from version 1 that I didn't realize I caused, and fixed some overzealous changes I made when first creating Kaizosseum.
The changes include:
- Toning back the level curve for all trainers from Miror B onward
- Rare candies and Sitrus Berries are now located within Phenac City to provide some extra leniency in the early game, so you don't have to wait till Pyrite Town
- Removed Hidden Power for all pokemon outside of a couple of trainers due to repeated issues with trying to properly apply certain hidden powers to the pokemon
- Fix vanilla teams reappearing for most, if not all, shadow pokemon trainers after catching their pokemon but losing to them
- Fixed Geare's team to be no longer vanilla
- Mirakle B and Justy have shadow pokemon, and they are toned back to Lv 40 and Lv 46, respectively
Upcoming changes:
- Working on providing a full heal to your team in the final gauntlet in Realgam Colosseum for the first 4 battles
- Looking to potentially increase move accuracy and or damage if necessary
- Prevent Rui from Bug walking into the Mayor's House corner
- Potentially add more encounters for the player
- Fix the Hidden Power issue
Both patches have been updated, so you can play version 1.0.1 with both Espeon and Umbreon, or Plusle and Minun as starter choices based on the patch you choose
I will be play testing patch 1.0.1 more intensively and thoroughly than I did with version 1.0.0. Sorry for the ridiculously unfair version that is version 1.0.
