    I wasn't sure where to post this, so sorry if this is the wrong thread.

    I'm interested in PokeGen, PKHEX, and Pokesavs - or however it is that I need to generate my own pokemon.

    I currently only have: The new 3DS and Alpha Sapphire.

    What equipment and programs do I need to get started?

    -Can I buy a regular NDS lite?

    - Do I need Pokemon X/Y instead of ORAS?

    Please direct me to any tutorials and/or what equipment i need to get started please.
