My battles are too plain, I don't even bother to set up

I would assume they are the same for the SID,

but perhaps the TID was set, but SID wasn't?

I wouldn't have a clue to be honest, might have to pick up a copy of Pokemon Ranch and deposit pokemon myself to find out.

That's quite alright, my favorites in battle tend to be those who unfortunately... just can't compete with the meta game or however you call it.

Victreebell, Vileplume, Drifblim, Chandelure, Lanturn, Wailord, etc... to name a few.

(After much breeding, have a near perfect Shiny Litwick back in X2. Wasn't a Modest one sadly.)

P.S. Side Question

Was looking at the Event Database collection for Pokemon Ranch, noticed that Haley's Pokemon although having the same TID, had differing SID on each one. I thought SID remained as a static hidden variable?

Actually, most of the legends are not shiny locked. You can, in fact, get shiny Reshiram and Zekrom now (a certain friend of mine got a shiny Reshiram), for instance. However, story mode mons like Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza seem to be shiny locked. Along with Deoxys.

Does this mean that no matter how much you Soft Reset, you wouldn't encounter a Shiny Kyogre/Groudon?

So it's okay for those Pikachu to have either Fly or Surf, but not both

I didn't actually know they had events for Flying/Surfing Pikachu, that's quite a delight to hear.

I imagine that it doesn't use balloons or surfboard animations though?

Also, I recall it was an absolute pain. You had to beat something or other with your Pikachu from Yellow. Miss the feature of having your Pokemon walking behind you from back then and most recently HG/SS.

Just to reiterate though, as event Pokemon brought in by a wonder card through Pokegen/PKHeX.

Although technically speaking legal, but not legitimate since one wasn't at or missed the download event. It would be considered inappropriate to use in battles online. (IE Random Matchups and what not. Although.. I think legendaries are banned anyways. >> )

Use of these would fall under the In-Game/Collection/Friends category, correct?

Man... unlocking it in Colosseum was a pain back when I was a tyke.

Makes sense, guess I'll have to get myself an imported copy of AS/OR to enjoy foreign events in that case from now on.

One other question, is there a way to check an event Pokemon in your storage/party to the actual one given out? I'm often having worries that trading online might lead to one winding up with hacked Pokemon without knowing it.

I have some event legendaries in question that someone on Reddit was trading over to those who asked. (IE Shiny Raikou, Shiny Palkia, etc.)

This will probably seem like a silly question, but after poking around the forums I didn't quite see anything clear in regards to it.

In the past, I recall getting the Mystery Gift/Wonder Card for an Event Deoxys after the fact. Probably even a year or so past it's end date, and of course you had to turn back the clock on the DS for it to go through. I think it was a ROM dump of the cartridge that was distributed to the GameStops and what not that I used... Not really sure anymore.

Anyways.. My question is this, in being unable to attend an event or desiring a foreign region event pokemon. Is it legal to want to use the uploaded event files to give yourself the Mystery Gift/Wonder Card and then transfer them over via the Bank to Gen VI?

I'm thinking specifically of Darkrai, Shaymin, etc... those you wouldn't have access to normally via an in-game event such as Deoxys being available in OR/AS post game in order to complete the Pokedex.
