According to Pokecheck.org, "X/Y support is progressing painfully. Expect some news soon."
So, if there is a way around encryption, it's yet again being first cracked by Xfr and Bond. Good point though. The method will probably not be publically released so it can't be patched.

Will save editing through SD for digital owners ever be viable?

Thank you! I've gotten nearly 30 entries, only 3 or so of which seem to be trolls. There's no way for me to tell for sure, sadly, if an entry is made up, but so far so good, as far as I can judge.

I know this has been talked about time and time again... but I need to clear this up for myself.
If someone was motivated to make a program and deal with all the "approximations" with IVs, nature, and the like, would it be possible to make a flat out converter from Gen I/II .pkm's to Gen III/IV/V?
I have the motivation to deal with such issues myself, but not the knowledge of programming the program. Plus it seems like every time this is brought up it's shot down as if it's not even possible.

Hello, all! I am starting a Wonder Trade Database where you can basically record any Pokemon you have received (or given away!) via the Wonder Trade.
If you follow this link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1YT7GeFxHbifbenzhK5Glnr-zSApEldbYgVp_BUFXEo8/viewform), you will find a form you can fill out for each Pokemon. Required info:
- Nickname (if applicable)
- OT Region (top left of summary page)
- OT Name
- OT ID
- Level when received/given away
- Whether or not it is shiny
- Whether or not it has a hidden ability
- Whether or not it has/had Pokerus
- Submitter's OT/forum username
Hopefully this will grow into a large collection, spread the word if you'd like!
For help transliterating Japanese and Korean names, definately check the default foreign name to see if it's that first, otherwise please visit http://www.linguanaut.com/japanese_alphabet.htm for the Japanese alphabet and/or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hangul#Letters for the Korean alphabet. Obviously it takes some extra time to try and scan through an unfamiliar and foreign alphabet, so including Korean and Japanese Pokemon is optional.
- Nickname (if applicable)

Idk if it helps, but here is my shiny Umbreon if anyone wants to continue shiny PID investigation.

It's not much, but the 5 abilities I posted yesterday can start off the abilities section for you, if you'd like.
-
Seems like the list is missing Belch, Fell Stinger, Flying Press, Ion Deluge, Noble Roar, and Parting Shot. I'll see if I can find those for you.
EDIT: I have most of the Pokemon that can learn them. But it'll take some grinding. I'll get back on that.
-
Alright, I have a few more abilities from the batch of .pkx's I uploaded yesterday.
Abilities
#173/0xAD - Strong Jaw
#174/0xAE - Refrigerate
#186/0xBA - Dark Aura
#187/0xBB - Fairy Aura
#188/0xBC - Aura Break
Everything else I uploaded had old abilities.
EDIT: ReignOfComputer got the moves already, so removed them from this list. Leaving the abilities, though.

Has anyone figured out how the GTS packets work? Trading is good and all, but GTS would be a solo job. Here's the data section of what I suspect to be the packet:

Most likely it's encrypted via TLS and these packets are useless, but it's worth looking at.

The move IDs of moves from previous generations are most likely all the same index numbers as in previous generations (they have been so far anyway). For reference: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_moves
However, if you wish to contribute index numbers for new moves, by all means...
I figured as much, just basically confirming it. Problem is you have to Wonder Trade to do this, and I'm not sure if there's a time at which I can receive the packet but not actually trade the Pokemon. If I can figure that out, I'd surely get a few new moves out there.
Otherwise, it's a lot of breeding.
EDIT: If anyone's intersted, here's my Eevee's .pkx. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7jtv2isp4blucf8/eevee.pkx I don't know, might be useful for something.

Codemonkey, idk if you're planning on adding move/ability names once they are confirmed but I can confirm that after intercepting my Eevee that moves 39 = Tail Whip, 204 = Charm, 281 = Yawn, and 273 = Wish. Basically the same as previous gens.
Gen I/II to Gen III/IV/V Conversion.

Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for! It was a wonder why no one has ever ventured to create such a program. I sort of ditched this thread thinking it would never get any replies, so it was a happy surprise to return to a working program. Thank you!
