  1. ShinyGTS is telling you the truth. It did bind to port 80; it does not know however if it can see the outside. You should not need to mess with port 80 if and only if you are trying to do this locally. If you are doing this locally, make sure the DNS you're putting in your DS is the local IP address of your computer. For example, my router assigned my PC the local address of 10.0.0.2; your PC would have something similar or, probably 192.168.1.x, where x is a number between 1 and 255. Do not use the IP that ShinyGTS displays because to use that one, you would probably have to mess with port forwarding.

Oh, I knew it was something stupid like that. Thank you so very much! :]

Edit: Hm, I'm still getting the same connection error even after switching to my local IP address. I got curious and tried to use HyperGTS again, but it isn't working now for some reason, I get the same connection error. I don't remember the network settings changing, I'll look into it a little more.

I can't figure it out- I think I'll try it on my actual PC tomorrow. I think the fact that I'm trying to do it on a virtual machine is the problem.

Edit (again): Yep, it was me being stupid. Works great on an actual PC!

  2. Okay, I'm running Windows XP via VMWare Fusion on my Macbook Pro. HyperGTS works dandy with this setup, but I can't figure out ShinyGTS.

I get this message, which I assume is a normal message: "GTS initialization on Port 80 complete." However, when I try and connect to the GTS after doing all the steps, I still get error message 52100 (I made sure the firewall is off, Skype is off, etc.). When I try and scan port 80 with http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/ I get a "timed out" message, which to me contradicts what ShinyGTS is telling me. Do I need to mess with port forwarding? I'm doing everything on my local network. I also get this feeling like I'm being a dumb technology-stupid girl and skipping an important step.

  3. I'm looking into getting a flashcart to backup/restore my DS Pokemon games. Which one is recommended (I saw there were lots of brands @_@), and where is a good place to get them? I apologize if this question can be answered in one of the stickies, I'd just like to get some community recommendations :]

  4. Hey, I'm Cojirou- I've been into Pokemon since RBY, and since DP I've been an on-and-off amateur Pokemon hacker. All the information you guys have posted here has been really helpful to me, so I thought I'd create a forum account. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

What I'm really interested in is creating legal Pokemon. Cheap hacks don't really interest me but I do like bypassing the slower methods of raising a good team.

I do have one question (if it doesn't belong here, please ignore/direct me to where I may ask this)- I was experimenting with editing TRU Dragonite's IVs, and no matter how much I tried to generate a valid PID (I made sure it was Type 1), the Legality Checker's Type field still came up as a hacked mystery gift. Is the checker not able to process edited event .pkm files properly, or is there no good way of editing Mystery Gift Pokemon events? Sorry if I sound like an idiot, haha.
