  1. Hey all! First, some background info - I run a small Pokemon themed section at a Local Retro Gaming Expo, where I use some of the DS distribution carts I own, along with some save files + Flash carts and Roms from here and elsewhere to recreate some of the Pokemon Distro Events of old. People can come visit the Expo, and I'll send them rare Pokemon! I try to keep things as legit as possible, using official carts and hardware when available, but I'm always on the look out for new things to add. Now onto my question - Would it be possible to modify a rom of Pokemon Stadium to essentially just give out Surfing Pikachu? The idea being, that instead of having to register a party of Pokemon from a Gen 1 game, and then beat the Master cup with Pikachu in the party, to then be given the ability to teach it surf, to somehow circumvent all that, and allow someone to just plug in a Gen 1 game, select their Pikachu, teach it surf, save and turn off. I know I could just make a save file of Pokemon Stadium and fill it with Surfing Pikachu's, or even just fill a Pokemon Yellow save or something with them and trade them away (as that's more or less how I trade away Mews and Celebis), But I feel like having it up on a TV and playing the Stadium animations would be much more satisfying, not to mention nicer for the guests to have surf on their own actual Pikachu's, and not some randomly cloned ones. Any help in pointing me in the right direction on where to get started is appreciated! I haven't done any rom hacking since the days of Pokemap on the GBA games, so I'm a little lost now!
