  1. Is this save even able to be salvaged, or should I just give up and start a new save file?
  2. Hello, I've been playing through Pokemon Blue (on a real cart) and my game has given me the "The save file is destroyed!" message upon turning it on. I believe I might have turned off my Gameboy a bit too soon when it was still writing data to the cartridge, but I am unsure (I turned it off as soon as it said the data had been saved) I used my GB Operator to extract the save, and looked through it on the current version of PKHex, and here is what I found: My Weepinbells name got changed from "Nepentha" to "Ne⚦entha", and the game version says "GN", im not sure what the game version means, but shouldnt it be set to RBY? some of my Pokemon have RBY, while others, like Nepentha, have been changed to "GN". I should also note that when I started this save file, I used PKHex to change my starter from a Squirtle to a Vulpix, purely for fun, and it hadnt been an issue. I doubt that was the cause of this glitch since I had been playing for 9 hours before anything happened, but it is worth noting. I had reverted the nickname back to "Nepentha" like it should be, and wrote it back to the cartridge, and it worked fine... at first. the Continue option showed up like normal and I played for a bit. But after saving, quitting, and returning to the game later, I was met with the same "The save file has been destroyed!" message. I extracted the save again to find that even more data had been corrupted (like my Abra suddenly having Horn Drill, and more nicknames being altered beyond my Weepinbell). I am very stumped about whats going on/whats causing this, every time I try to fix it, it seems to just make things worse. Does anyone have any ideas? I will attach the first backup I made of my save file (which is where the first screenshot is from) which has the least damage done to it rather than my latest one (where the last two screenshots come from) Pokemon - Blue Version (USA, Europe) (SGB Enhanced).sav Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this post, I appreciate it so much! If anyone has anymore questions about this, please just ask and I'll respond ASAP!
  3. Hello! I tried my best to find the proper forum to post this in, so sorry if this post is better suited for another forum mods. So, I will soon be getting a Gameboy Color, and was wondering if it was possible to use Mystery Gift with my 3DS? I know just going onto the Virtual Console version of the Generation 2 games and trying to use Mystery Gift flat out wont work, but was curious if there had been any homebrew applications that send the correct IR signals to the GBC to utilize Mystery Gift? I've scoured the internet for such a thing, and I have not found it. So I decided to make a thread to see if anyone here might know, and to make a web to lie in wait like a spider until such a thing comes into existence. I have moderate coding experience, and would be interested in looking into 3DS homebrew creation for a tool like this if such a thing does not exist yet, if that's even possible with current 3DS homebrew capabilities. Thank you for taking your time to read this and contribute!
  4. Yeah, for some reason the Epilogue Playback program could dump the ROM and save, and even flash another ROM to the repro, but it could not flash a save, for whatever reason. And my Epilogue GB Operator isn't compatible with FlashGBX, so. I ended up just having to restart my game, since I deleted my save data on the cartridge to troubleshoot some things. oh well, thanks for your help anyway
  5. Hello! So, last night I was playing some Pokemon Green (I'll... get into that more later on in the post), and I named my trainer something stupid when I made the save file, lets say I named myself 'Zombo', but I've really grown to love the team I have currently and don't want to start over from scratch. So, I rip my Pokemon Green save file from my cartridge and load it up in PKHeX, I change my name to, lets say 'Zetta', in the SAV field, and also go through all my Pokemon and change their OT to my desired new name, so they don't get an exp bonus. However, when I exported the save, and uploaded it back to my cartridge, my name was still what it was before! On the "Continue" window when you first bootup the game, on my start menu, my trainer card, and even on my Pokemons OT! Now, the biggest reason I can think of as to why it isn't working is because. I'm playing on a repro cart of Pokemon Green, which is just the Red/Blue translation, with the sprites from Pokemon Green. It is not official at all, and I was scared that the save wouldn't even be compatible in PKHeX in the first place, but... it was? If PKHeX can read this repro carts save file, id figure it should be able to make changes to it too, but I could be wrong. I'm at work at the moment, and did all of this last night, so I cannot send the save file in question, but does anyone have any idea why this isn't working? When I reload the save file into PKHeX, it sees all of my changes, only when uploading that save file back to the cartridge does it not recognize them! Are there perhaps additional steps I need to do to achieve changing my name, or have I done everything right? Thank you all for your time!
