Hi, I am new to ROM hacking and am trying to create a hack that has all double battles in pokemon platinum. To get started, I have been experimenting with Trainer 1 - Tristan on Route 202, but I cannot get him to be a double battle using PPRE (tried both 0.12 and 0.14). When checking the double battle box, he just becomes an npc with an empty text box when you talk to him. I have searched all over the forum and can't find anyone that has the answer on how to make a double battle. I have already successfully expanded his team to more than 1 pokemon.
So far I have tried:
1. Checking the Double Battle box
2. Changing trainer class
3. Following steps in Platinum Double Battles? - ROM - NDS Discussion & Help - Project Pokemon Forums, as well as mimicking all the attributes of Tristan besides pokemon to match Liv \and Liz
Anyone know of any tutorial on how to make a double battle (or how to alter the platinum engine to always be a double battle)? Thanks!
