How to properly change time in Pokemon Emerald using PKHeX?

I just replaced my dry battery tonight, and I backed up my save using my GB Operator after successfully doing so. I loaded my save onto PKHeX (with the latest version) and opened the SAV tab -> clicked Clock (RTC) -> selected Reset RTC and set the time. I attempted both the "Initial Time" and "Time Elapsed" fields, but proved to not update the game when uploading my save file back to my cartridge.

How can I fix the time on my Pokemon Emerald cartridge?

I was able to fix it. Since I figured it out, I will explain what I did to help anyone who has this problem in the future.

 

Load your Gen 3 save into PKHeX, and go to SAV -> Event Flags -> Check "Reset RTC Enabled". Then, while in the Event Flags menu, go to the Event Constants tab, and set "Reset RTC" to enabled.

Export your sav, upload to your cartridge, and push Left + Select + B on the title screen, and a menu will pop up. From here, set the days to 0, and set the time as you please. After doing this, I checked the clock in the players bedroom, and it was synced.

Hopefully someone else gets some use out of my half an hour of trial an error, I don't know why Game Freak was so opposed to letting players reset their clocks for situations like this.
