Need help with my Japanese Pokemon Gold Save

Hi all, I recently purchased a GB Operator because I wanted to backup my Japanese GSC games. I just to the Operator and was able to access and backup my Crystal. I then tried it with Pokemon Gold and I ran into an issue. The save couldn't be read in PKHeX. I then tried the game and there was no save file. I tried re-uploading the save I just pulled from the game to the cart and it still only says New Game. My Gold file is attached. Am I missing something or did I do something wrong? I really just want the Pokemon off my team from the file. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

Can't say I have a solution for you, but I did just wanna chime in to say I'm having a very similar issue with a copy of Ruby and a FireRed Romhack. Game acts like there's no save file when loading, and PKHeX also throws an error when trying to load. I haven't heard back from anyone, probably since mine was an instance of SD card corruption, but I hope you're able to salvage your save.
