Help restoring old saves

Recommended Posts

I used to have a flash cart over 10 years ago. I also dumped some saves from it, which I just found on a Hard drive. My old cartridge was stolen but I at least want the work. Among which is a Pokemon Emerald file and a Shining Soul 2 file. Issue is, at least one has an .sv1 extension.

I have a lot of time on the Emerald save, but the Shining Soul 2 was a bigger piece of my past, like my life's work! I spent almost a thousand hours on the bus and home trying to grind up. I ideally would like to know how to get this save working: if not, I'd be happy just knowing what level my highest was so I can at least use a code to go back to that level.

I chatted with AI to try to discern but it didn't help in this case. Here's what I can tell you:

-The file size is 128kb in windows and was named "ShiningSoul2_Orig Save.sv1", like I wanted to protect it.
-I am not sure if I ripped it using acekard software, a GBA (link cable) to USB or Parallel port
-I also  played this 2player on an emulator with my ex (circa 2012), so it could be a save state?

I tried renaming it to save files but it just loads no data. I want to believe I dumped correctly but am also afraid I'm on a fools errand. Can anybody help me no where to look, or take a look for me? If this was figured out, I would have back 1 of the 2 biggest hits to feeling I'll lose what I invest in. Thanks!
